Collecting "The Malady Lingers On"

Europe VHS [PMI MVR 4900063]
This item is for the time being presumed to be European because it has German text on its packaging, because it was sold in countries of continental Europe such as Italy and because it can be played in SECAM VCRs in France. It comes in a black hardshell case with wraparound display window in which is slipped the artwork insert. View front and back artwork from the image gallery in the top left corner of this page. The spine follows the same colour pattern as the back. It shows in its middle Morrissey's name in purple above the title in black, both in the same font as on the front. The catalogue number is found in black at the very top of the spine above a VHS Hi-Fi/Dolby logo, and logos for His Master's Voice and PMI are found at the bottom. The videocassette's top sticker label is white with blue text and logos. Morrissey's name is at the top of it, with the album title beneath it, both in the same font as on the front. There is a PMI logo in the bottom right corner, and technical data/credits in the remaining space. The front (spine) of the videocassette has a pale blue sticker with a barcode and a bit of black text including Morrissey's name, "The Malady", "PAL", the date "11/05/92" and various numbers.

Hello Stephane,
my copy cames in a clear hardshell case and the sticker on the top and the spine of the videocassette differs from the one described above. The rest seems to be identical.
I´ll try to scan and e-mail you the pictures in the next days.

And as always, thank you for this brilliant collector´s appendix.

The Australian DVD comes in a clear plastic softshell case with wraparound display window in which is slipped the artwork insert. It features on the front the usual dvd artwork (view left), but there is a white sticker at the bottom stating the classification in black: 'For General Exhibition' next to a 'G' inside a triangle. The spine and back were modelled on those of the European DVD described below, with a few changes. Exact information about the spine is needed. The back lacks the white square with German text in the bottom left corner and the 'E' classification box in the bottom right corner, and the catalogue number beneath the barcode was adapted. Information on the reverse of the insert (visible inside) and disc is needed.

The spine on the Oz DVD is exactly the same as the EU PAL version. On the back, there is a large white rectangle that has a barcode, warnings in English and German, running time, format info and the number PM 906. Above that is some text in purple concerning copyright and saying 'Printed in Australia'. Next to the big white rectangle are symbols for abbey road interactive, DVD, EMI and PAL. The disc and inlay are exactly the same as the EU PAL version.

The front (spine) of the videocassette has a pale blue sticker with a barcode and a bit of black text including Morrissey's name, "The Malady", "PAL", the date and various numbers. The date in question is "11/05/92" on copies inside a clear case, and "01/14/93" on copies inside a black case.

Hello Stephane, you seem to have mixed up the numbers!? 01/14/93 is on the copies inside the clear case.
