Thread: Morrissey in 3D Google Earth

Default Morrissey in 3D Google Earth

If you enable "3D BUILDINGS" in the latest version of Google Earth, and zoom into Salford Lads Club (enter postcode / zip code - M5 3RX in the 'fly to' box to help locate it), you will not only see a 3D replica of the Lads Club, but also a 3D Morrissey standing just outside, in the same position as the famous Queen is Dead photo. The "Morrissey" is quite pixelated, but it's a nice touch from whoever put this together in cyberspace.

In case someone doesn't have Google Earth, Maps seems to handle the job as well: http://maps.google.com/

And here's a glimpse of Steven.
    Time might prove anything?

It's an AMAZING program. Maybe some philantropist is secretly funding it so people unable to travel can still see the world.

    Happy Christmas to CrystalGeezer
I've never worked it out. They spend millions on cars taking pictures of every major street in the world, and satellite maps with 3D relief detail, yet they charge nothing for it's viewing, with no adverts. And now we have little Moz looking all lonely in digital Salford.
(What happened to Johnny, Mike and Andy by the way?)
If anyone has an answer, don't delay......

    Merry Christmas to you too!

I saw one of those funny little google cars with all the cameras on top. My friend and I were on our way to San Luis Obispo from LA and we stopped in Ventura because he loves thrift stores (charity shops?) and they have a ton, but we got turned around and wound up down a residential street near the beach and driving about 2 miles an hour was a google maps car taking pics of all the houses. It was kind of cool to witness.

That's not morrissey, it's me standing there in that same QID pose for eternity

every day around noon I take a 15 minute break to stretch and maybe weigh in with a post or two at so-low.

Unlike other sites who got the story from user MORRIZSEY, cheeky NME stole it without giving a credit.

Yes, I noticed a lot of websites picked up on the story after it was posted here. These DID give credit, describing me as a 'superfan', ahem

    http://geeks.thedailywh.at/2011/12/3...gg-of-the-day/

    http://animalnewyork.com/2011/12/mor...-google-earth/

And Rolling Stone magazine reported it as well as NME

Goes to show that some people do read solo after all. Hmmm. Credit should go to Ste Allan who put it together.

Next: 3D Smiths reunion outside Manchester G-Mex. Maybe

You were right Kewpie, they didn't acknowledge.
On another related point, does the Leveson Inquiry throw any light on the music press? With Morrissey's court case coming up, it may be influenced by a shift in law if that arrives before the summer. Or will the jouno's still be writing the stuff in the British press as always?
I've always wondered what Morrissey wanted to put straight from the lies he has mentioned from prior interviews.
