Best song, best line, best lyric right now

I don't claim to know
Where my holiness goes
I just know that I like what is starting to show
Sometimes

Depeche Mode - Clean

did you write the book of etc

...but I've no passion for this hate.
and in a moment...

This one obviously

This love is poison
but it's like,...a golden shower

I'm the focus
of your tension
but you don't want it

Plastic, not fan
tastic
(not
ecstatic
most certainly not
blessed.)

It's official,
you're crapastic
you're so spacious. You take all the space.

Are you a fan
are you just hyperventilating ?

So I con ic!
You're like plastic.

Man chest... ha!!!

First I'm gonna make it
Then I'm gonna break it
Till it falls apart
Hating all the faking
And shaking while you're breaking
My brittle heart
Brittle heart
Brittle heart*
And our little heart
Goes

Bring on the new messiah
Wherever he may roam
Bring on the new messiah
Wherever he may roam
Bring on the new messiah
Wherever he may roam
Bring on the new messiah
Wherever he may roam

Tender is the ghost
The ghost I love the most
Hiding from the sun
Waiting for the night to come

You're pink, you're young, you're middle-class
They say it doesn't matter
Fifteen blue shirts and womanly hands
You're shooting up the ladder

Your mind is racing like a pro now
Oh my God, it doesn't mean a lot to you
One time, you were a glowing young ruffian
Oh my God, it was a million years ago

I like this I think the whole album is good.

Are we getting older?
Are we getting wiser?
Or are we getting none of the above?
And does it matter when
This love will last forever...

Never quite said what I wanted to say to you
Never quite managed the words to explain to you
Never quite knew how to make them believable
And now the time has gone...

The smallest, gentle gesture, keeps the enemy at bay.
All I needed was a word
(Where are they now?)

"Lightning comes and lightning goes
And it's all the same to me
Let it in 'cause I want you so
I can hardly breathe and release

Into one thousand pieces
I have broke into, over you
That shame will soon be gone
But I keep burning on and on and on

If nothing else I am myself
It's all I have to give
Everything's changing now"

"forgive for i did not know
Cos I was just a boy
And you were so much more

Than any god could ever plan
More than a woman or a man
And now I understand how much I took from you
That, when everything starts breaking down
You take the pieces off the ground
And show this wicked town
Something beautiful and new

You think that Luck
Has left you there
But maybe there's nothing
Up in the sky but air

And there's no mystical design
No cosmic lover preassigned
There's nothing you can find
That can not be found
Cos with all the changes
You've been through
It seems the stranger's always you
Alone again in some new
Wicked little town

So when you've got no other choice
You know you can follow my voice
Through the dark turns and noise
Of this wicked little town
Oh it's a wicked little town
Goodbye, wicked little town"

This reprise of “Wicked Little Town” is sung by Tommy Gnosis, appropriately full-circle, since “Wicked Little Town” is the song that Tommy hears Hedwig singing when they first meet each other.

In the song, Tommy apologizes to Hedwig for his coldness and asks her forgiveness, for he was young and knew not what he did. He also expresses his admiration for her and what she was and is: more than a woman, or a man.

In a recent interview with Out, Stephen Trask stated that this song was, on one level, him talking to his co-writer John Cameron Mitchell.

Hedwig’s a very unusual character, but much of her observations about the world come from either John or me. John was looking for another half, and when Tommy sings his version of “Wicked Little Town,” that’s me talking to John. Because we had this character to do it through, it didn’t seem indulgent. She’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met, but her feelings are identifiable and very real, so people find themselves making an unexpected connection with her. That’s what ended up happening.

Remind me to breathe at the end of the world
Appreciate scenes and the love I received
To love who I've been at the end of the world
The departed, the departed...

And Jesus was a sailor
When he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching
From his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain
Only drowning men could see him
He said "All men will be sailors then
Until the sea shall free them"
But he himself was broken
Long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human
He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone
