Best song, best line, best lyric right now

Re: Best Song, Best Line, Best Lyric RIGHT NOW (Non-Morrissey Edition)

This is the sound of someone losing the plot
Making out that they're OK when they're not
You're gonna like it
(But not alot)

I do believe, it's terrible.
Ohhhh, woah, woah.
Ah rah, ah, ah, ah.

:p

Irish blood, English heart
this I'm made of

I'm trying to explain to myself, I can have both
I'm trying to explain to the voice inside

Re: Best Song, Best Line, Best Lyric RIGHT NOW (Non-Morrissey Edition)

I've had a hole in my heart
For so long
I've learned to fake it and
Just smile along

Down on the street
Those men are all the same
I need a love
Not games
Not games

(I love that whole song so much, it's one of the top 10 that always gets stuck in my head.)

I'm your only friend
I'm not your only friend
But I'm a little glowing friend
But really I'm not actually your friend
But I am

(Ohhhhhhhhhhh, does this mean New York is a sure thing? Watch it and find out.)

I know by now you think I should have straightened myself out
thank you, drop dead

(Yesterday my dad bought a straight hot rod (no dents) and a bird I'm housesitting dropped dead in it's cage. I hate my life.)

You think I'm pretty
without any make-up on.

Then I'm radio and then I'm television
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone
Lay the young blue bodies with the old red bodies
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone
With my kid on my shoulders I try
Not to hurt anybody I like
But I don't have the drugs to sort,
I don't have the drugs to sort it out, sort it out

I defend my family with my orange umbrella
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone
With my shiny new starspangled tennis shoes on
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone
With my kid on my shoulders I try
Not to hurt anybody I like
But I don't have the drugs to sort,
I don't have the drugs to sort it out, sort it out
I don't have the drugs to sort it out, sort it out

ttle voices swallowing my soul, soul, soul

That album's really grown on me but it's still way too mellow for my tastes. I like that Karen song they have, on Alligator...love that song.

Re: Best Song, Best Line, Best Lyric RIGHT NOW (Non-Morrissey Edition)

Four o'clock in the afternoon
and I didn't feel like very much.
I said to myself, "Where are you golden boy,
where is your famous golden touch?"
I thought you knew where
all of the elephants lie down,
I thought you were the crown prince
of all the wheels in Ivory Town.
Just take a look at your body now,
there's nothing much to save
and a bitter voice in the mirror cries,
"Hey, Prince, you need a shave."
Now if you can manage to get
your trembling fingers to behave,
why don't you try unwrapping
a stainless steel razor blade?
That's right, it's come to this,
yes it's come to this,
and wasn't it a long way down,
wasn't it a strange way down?
