Joyce Michael on Radio 4's Today Programme this morning
Anyone else hear this?
There was a feature on bands lending their songs for use on adverts, with a couple of minutes spent discussing the John Lewis ad, and Joyce Michael's views on the subject.
He basically said that Marr and Morrissey were welcome to the money - well he's changed his tune a little!
(NB - mods/DT please don't copy this post verbatim to a news item, thanks.)
Related news, Absolute Radio have stuck the Smiths' version of Please Please Please onto their playlist, and are giving it a lot of plays.
One of their DJs said the other day "I love the fact that an ad is giving us an excuse to playing more Smiths!".
Good on 'em, frankly.
