I'm relatively new to Morrissey-Solo and I keep noticing a lot of hostility to Morrissey-Solo and to individuals on various threads.
Does anyone out there know what this is all about?
Hi Vivahate, really like your posts I've seen on other threads. Good intellegent comment. How much time have you got?
Is there a potted version or should I wait for the movie?
Hey Worm, well quite and this is what I like about the site and a lot of the posters. When I started the thread about Morrissey and his musical rut soon after I joined I fully expected howls of anguished and offended Moz fans. Oh Contraire! No lynch mobs at my door at all.The discussion was informed and entertaining and, sadly, left me behind.Morrissey-solo.com reflects the realities of the Internet more than it does the realities of a Morrissey fan club. Irksome for some.

Worm, you're a gentleman (pardon the inherent sexism of assuming you're male). We're all just waffling on about our opinions in total equality. "Left behind" only applies to the Rapture.
Nicely put Vivahate. I would imagine thats it in a nutshell.Once upon a time there was a guy named Morrissey who was in a band called The Smiths. He died in 1997 and was replaced by a hollow shell who is fueled solely by bitterness, blind adoration, cash, and chart positions. The Shell, knowing it could never reach the quality levels of it's predecessor, lacks any form of confidence whatsoever, so it surrounds itself with 'Yes Men', Latinos, and plodding guitarists who give him some of the worst songs of his career in exchange for a paycheck and rubbing his tummy nightly before bed and telling him "everything is going to be alright, your new album IS your strongest!" The Shell feels he should never have anything negative said about him by either his fans, the press, or his peers. When certain negative aspects about him are brought to light, he threatens with his legal team. When rational fans voice how horrible his recent output is, he makes vulgar t-shirts condemning the entire site they are on. And when that doesn't please him enough, he bans the owner of said site who supported him through the darkest point of his career.
The reason there is SO much hostility is that Morrissey has two different types of fans - those who are sane and rational and just like the music, and those who are sycophants that love everything he does, attack those who don't, and dream of him putting his genitals either on or inside them...whatever he feels most comfortable with.
