Danny Boyle wants the Smiths played at the London Olympics? Is this the same Danny Boyle who once wrote for the NME and recently appeared on The One Show with Ginger-minged millionaire Chris Evans to discuss his recent battle against throat cancer? As compassionate as I am, I cannot see how he is qualified to pass comment. They'll be asking Jonathan Ross' opinion next...

How about the very fact that he's been charged with sorting the ceremony out? That qualifies him to pass comment. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10338048

Plus, you are referring to Danny Baker.

You dislike someone for having ginger hair, and confuse Danny Baker with Danny Boyle. What a dickhead. What is that people as thick as you get out of Morrissey's lyrics?

People on stilts waving flags and dancing to 'How Soon Is Now' in some tacky opening ceremony.

    Christ - let's hope not.

The Smiths? Yeah, 'cause their music evokes national pride and the spirit of sport like no other UK band, evah.

Frankly, I enjoy Morrissey's editorials, however, I am starting to view him as a bit of a coward. Maybe coward is the wrong word, but nonetheless...He makes these posts on true-to-you, throwing bits to the world occasionally, yet he doesn't bother to allow for discussion. No healthy debate. It's almost as if he is throwing us linguistic meat if you will, we devour it, and have no means to discuss things with him. Celebrities are really out of touch in that way; I believe they are afraid of this healthy discussion/debate. I would love to have a discussion about things with Moz; animals, McDonalds, the price of wheat in Idaho, but celebrity doesn't allow for the regular folk to have contact with them. Yeah, his idolization of animals is interesting. No question we should treat animals humanely. No question. But I would kill a dog to save a person. I would not, however, kill a dog for another's selfish satiation.
