Interlude....

Hi, I live in Iceland and need the Interlude cd. I cannot find it anywhere and this is not good!

If anyone can help me...I would appreciate it greatly!

Hi Sheila,

In the Moz Solo site click onto the Shoplifters Union and you can go listen to the song Interlude on-line. The song itself is good, but @#!!! does Siouxsie ever @#!!! it up big time. Moz sounds like an Angel and she sounds like crap.

Interlude is a terrible song. It is full of weirdness. Morrissey singing a duet about love just creeps me out. Also, what seems like an interlude now just goes on and on and on...

interlude is a wonderful plaintive ballad & it doesn't sound like a love song cause if you read the lyrics ,you'll see that the story
had never really begun.

the song is available on the best of morrissey.

it's a pure gem & the voice of siouxsie fits perfectly with the
voice of morrissey.

a narrow-minded person called FENCE wrote a message below explaining that the performance of siouxsie was crap :she admitted later she wrote that because siouxsie dared to state that working with moz is not easy.

is it because siouxsie dared to critizise morrissey that you state
"her voice is crap"?

in writing that, you insult morrissey cause he's a big fan of her!

"Interlude" is most easily available on the "Suedehead - Best of Morrissey" CD which is available in all good record shops etc or on the net. The original UK single contained "Interlude" (3:48), "Interlude" (extended) (5:49) and "Interlude" (instrumental) (7:36); it's the 6 minute long extended version which is on "Suedehead", so you're not missing out on much. It's still a lovely ballad, with a wistful feel about it.
A question for others: Was this song recorded for a soundtrack? If not, why did Morrissey and Ms Sioux get together?

it was a side -project that moz wanted to do with siouxsie for many years: it was a one-off but troubles appeared when EMI in uk &
SIRE RECORDS in the usa asked to moz to include this track on the
vauxhall lp.Moz stricly refused this idea.
then, geffen records & polydor-the records compagnies of siouxsie
started to be jealous .

so moz & siouxsie were completly upset because this song was recorded
in april'93 but it only saw the light of day 16 months later.
this song was a winter song & sire and emi decided to release it
in august 94 to annoy the rebel artists!

I am narrow minded and I am french ( I have been living in the US for 5 years though). (Un Grand Fan de Niagara et les Rita Mitsouko).

I think Siouxsie is great. I saw her perform when Mr. Robert Smith was still on lead guitar and then 8 years ago when she had her Peek-a-Boo single. She started the whole Goth. movement really. Let me rephrase my earlier comment: "I personally did not like Interlude because, in my opinion, there was no synergie between the two voices". Rightfully so Franck, Les Gouts et les Couleurs ne se discutent pas. At least we agree on Moz...

Maybe one day we'll discuss this over a nice Syrah.
