Johnny marr should take out a legal writ to stop those fuck wits destroying his songs any longer.

I bet JM , MJ and AR cringe at their attempts to play the musical parts.

I truly am bored of that band....truly it is over and I dred to think what the new album is like.
I agree with that almost 100%, but I have one misgiving. Imagine what Steve's lyrics would be like if Johnny Marr did prevent him & his bunch of clowns, legally, from performing Smiths songs. The next 10 albums would just be a squall of bitterness and bitching about lawyers and judges and ex-bandmates over the top of an insipid, Blink 182-style accompaniment. Oh... sorry... hang on...

On the plus side, though, forced to rely on his own more recent dross, he'd quickly go out of business; nobody wants to endure that for a full 75 minutes.

So yeah! Go for it, Johnny!

The funny thing is that the American bands of the market still write better music than what Morrissey's cronies try to come up with.

Like many I have been a fan since 1984 and I think that gives me an ounce , just a little ounce , to comment on things.

The "band" and I cough slightly when I say that are just shite. What is that all about that they wear the same tops , how childish is that.

This "sound" of theirs. If they are attempting to top London by JM , forget it.

How dare they play JM songs in that manner. I can only say that they play the songs like that through utter contempt for them because their own efforts at songwriting are inept.

I would love to see them attempt the intro to what difference does it make......they would put their fingers in traction.

I really wish m would stop with the childish comments about the smiths. He doesn't give a monkeys about their legacy , he will not even sign smiths stuff , what's all that about.

Frankly M is becoming that embarrsing uncle at your party.

Also , they refer to this site as so-low......right.

Their chosen voice of the Internet , ie , true to you , doesn't have a forum does it.....I wonder why that is.

People are always quick to blame the band, but in reality the real blame lies solely on the boss...and your God, Mr. Morrissey.

Well, first, I'm American and I really don't think American music, as someone said, is better that what Morrissey writes. I mean, some things are fantastic like TV on The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, White Stripes (when they existed). But keep in mind, we're also responsible for Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Katy Perry is attractive, I suppose, but surely Russell Brand has gone deaf since we once loved The Smiths.

Whoever said "Without Marr, Joyce, and Rourke, the Smiths would be the Nosebleeds" - I find that to be a perfect example. I think giving Moz 95% of the credit for the Smiths is CRAZY! Marr is a genius and just because you may not have liked his choice to join/form Electronic, it doesn't make him less of a genius. If you listen to Viva Hate, it's clear that Morrissey told someone "please make me some Smiths-like Music". I love Your Arsenal and his line-up back then because it was when he first started sounding like himself Vs the Smiths... Why? Because i want my Smiths songs played by The Smiths, yet them reforming seems - the way the look now - would be far more embarrassing than we think to see on stage and would tarnish the legacy. As far as soccer/football, the USA is supposed to lose to Mexico, honestly. Soccer isn't a priority at all here, and for Mexico, it's life and death.

Just to clarify, I didn't write this. I fully disagree with this statement. In fact, I was going to ignore the whole "French kissing St. Steve's ring / Fucking idiot" post altogether. I mean, really...YAWN.

However, I would like to state that Joyce should just stop while he's ahead. He knows that what he said in the first twit is exactly what he meant.

And to ALL OF YOU who don't like the fact that I care very much for Morrissey...well, too bad. Think I'll go and kiss his ass a while longer now, thanks. At least he's worth it.

btw there's just one Johnny Marr, who wrote and composed with Morrissey timeless
music , in a band called The Smiths, who still influence lots of bands, and get positive
input from fellow bands, singer m/f

it's sad that Rourke is Dj'ing in NY, and Joyce has nothing on his hand than talk about
that band he was the drummer, both Rourke and Joyce contributed to the sound of the Smiths, I mean they were the rythm team and were Smiths, but without M&M I beg to
differ if they got that famous , and make money or have connections if they wern't in
The Smiths. Joyce should have tweet or mailed nothing, about Morrissey's Glastonbury performance, ' oh he've done it now' .

You weren't ignoring it because you were bored by it. You wanted to ignore it because you are unable to defend or justify your unquestioning, unthinking adoration of a complete stranger.

Mike Joyce was right to refer to Morrissey & his band doing "cover versions" of The Smiths' songs; that is what they are.

I don't think it's true that people, "don't like the fact," that you're besotted with someone whom you'll never know. I think they just despise you for your stupidity: you are a waste of a life and we're laughing at you.

All nations contain good and bad music. There's plenty of shit music in America as there is in Britain right now.

I saw the Smiths a few times and I have seen Moz many, many times – and now I have come to the inevitable conclusion that ....
Morrissey – Marr – Walker Bros would have been a spectacular Smiths line up (with Boz, Alain and Jesse alternating on extra guitar according to style + Mikey Farrell on keyboards(trumpet/accordian etc. ... ok go on then, Gary Day doing some bass too) ... I guess we can only speculate how that might have been. The band would still be alive and performing like U2 (one of the few survivors from the era).

The more I hear from Joyce, the more I think he got damn lucky, probably under Marr's supervision.

I have never once been disappointed with Moz's band – and the players over the years have been rightfully embraced by most people who follow Moz.

Anonymous? Unless you're posting your full name, address and other personal details, that's a fucking ridiculous thing to say. I'm no more anonymous than you are.

As for calling me a bully, I'm not the one going around calling someone "despicable", just because my idol tells me not to like him. And let's face it, if Morrissey suddenly became all friendly with Joyce or said nice things about him, you'd be falling over yourself to agree, such is your need to be told what to think.

Morrissey loves Kristeen Young, and I can't stand her. Morrissey loves The New York Dolls. I'm not a fan at all of the Dolls. Should Morrissey ever start saying nice thing about Joyce, I'd suggest he have his head examined. The banter stops here, as you clearly know very little about me. Perhaps you should slip off and start your own Joyce-solo website. Ha...good luck with that.

Morrissey helped write those songs he can sing them with whomever he wants... Johnny also plays smiths songs and although his string work is superb the singing is NEVER a patch on Moz, no matter who he gets on vocal- myself, I hate it when he gets that bland singer from Crowded house murdering every word.
As for the band wearing matching clothing, well the Smiths also did this in the early days, I see nowt wrong with it.
I would love to see Moz writing songs with Marr or with a better band BUT its his choice.
As for Joyce giving his opinion, nobody cares what that prat says- Morrissey and Marr considered themselves as the Smiths and the others as support and I must say these days I agree- just what the other two done since the break up of the smiths?

Oops, sorry I replied to the wrong person

Nobody believes you. Just do as you're told, as usual. Steven expects.
