Well, seeing as you've done nothing but stroke each others cocks rather than have this oh-so-legitimate discussion of Morrissey's career, I'll just assume it's been decided that you guys are smart and awesome and we're all ears. I'll be here in the corner menstruating if you have any questions.

Whether you enjoy it or not, take the time to film music videos. No more videos of a live performance with the studio recording dubbed over it.

Release your autobiography along with a copy of your lead single. It will guarantee you finally earn a #1 single.

Release a concert DVD and a live album.

Do not introduce songs that will appear on your new album months in advance. Also, limit the number of new songs to 3 before the release of an album.

Do not send out promo copies of the album to reviewers. Someone will leak it. Invite all the reviewers to a record debut and let them review it from there. No one listens to reviews anyway.

Promote yourself and your album properly. Appear on shows to offer interviews and performances. Appear in magazines. Go on radio shows. Put up some posters, billboards & banners. Have a few tv spots.
This post especially makes a lot of sense. I realise he's single minded and all, but making adjustments to the way he promotes and records his music would probably get him closer to the sales and prominence he clearly wants.

I feel like this has been a long time coming actually- all the references to the legal system and bankers are clouding what are otherwise very good lyrics.

I think some people were a little harsh on Mr Hate here. After all, Hate said nothing new he simply culled together ideas that a number of people in the music press and on here have been saying for the last five years.
The above reads, mostly, like a mission statement for the promo duties of Quarry and what happened when Moz played the game (to a degree)?-He really did his best, during this period. Quarry was his only really main stream lp, he toured like a mental person, went on a TV and press blitz-he got slated on here for "selling out" and other trite things.
My only REAL grumble is that the music is suffering over the last few LPs- his voice is still fantastic and he still has the magic BUT he seems to have got quite lazy in terms of words and ideas. Thats not to say his new music is rubbish because it isn't there are some fantastic songs on the last few lps but I do feel he does need a new music partner.
To say that Morrissey shouldn't write/record with people he feels comfy with but should instead write with "talented" music people..really does miss the point of Moz and his world.

No 'About Schmidt' love? It's one of his best performances!

I'd like to see an album full of Alain co-writes.
