I read somewhere...wikipedia, possibly, that Nina converted to "Protestantism" in the 90's(?).

Usually you are not only "a christian" but of the roman catholic, lutheran calvinst anglican or even orthodox flavor denomination/confession, esp if you have been priviledged to choose your denomination as an adult.
The correct term in german is "evangelisch-reformiert"
