Morrissey Viva Hate LP 1988 question

Today at Newbury Comics I purchased for $20.00 USD a 12" vinyl LP of Viva Hate. It is wrapped in a plastic covering (as well as the typical plastic sleeve protector that most albums come with) that is sealed with a silver sticker that says "Simply Vinyl Seal of Quality Made in the UK" on it. On the front of the covering there is another silver sticker that says "100% Heavyweight Virgin Vinyl Limited Edition Classic Album."

While I am a big Morrissey fan, I know little about vinyl releases and was just curious as to what exactly this sticker signified. Was this particular LP not widely released back in '88, or is there something special about this copy? It seems like an odd thing to find in a Newbury Comics shop in Massachusetts given that it is just now over 22 years old so I was hoping there was some sort of story behind this one. Thanks!! =]

Hello. The record you have is a reissue from 2001 not 1988.

All the copyright information on the back at the bottom says 1988. Nowhere do I see 2001. How can you tell it's a reissue?

Simply Vinyl reissued Viva Hate and Your Arsenal.
The 180g vinyls are nice, but the problem with these editions is that they don't come with inserts.
They're not very rare.

I would say that the only pressings that fetch a bit of money on ebay are Education In Reverse, the Japenese edition with bonus 7" (both versions) and nice condition copies of the Philippines edition, besides that, unless you're selling to a nut like me, don't expect a lot.

This said I think the rarest pressings are the 95' pressings on Parlophone for Viva Hate, Bona Drag and Kill Uncle, they are according to me the most limited and rarest pressings on vinyl for these records. Took me the longest fo find anyway.
