Default Top 100 Iconic images of Morrissey 1983-2009: nominate 5 favourite photos 1984

In 1984 The Smiths finally released their first studio album which established their position in British indie scene, their articles and photos were on many newspapers and magazines.

It's getting harder to select photos because of more choices.

The suggestion will be open 7-10 days then a poll will be posted.

    The rule:

Each user can nominate 5 photos of Morrissey (or The Smiths) taken / published in widely available commertial publications in 1984.
It means no photos from fanzines, I'm afraid.

I'd like you to 3 things in mind to when you select photos:

    - Artistic
    - Aesthetic
    - Iconic

Also many thanks to Comtesse who runs excellent The Arcane Old Wardrobe where you can search / check the year of the photos from photo gallery.

The polls cover 1983-2009 i.e. 26 years, I decided to exclude photos taken by amateur photographers, Smiths / Morrissey single and album sleeves which don't have a photo of Morrissey.

Basically the photos get most suggestions are selected for 1984 poll.
Maximum 15 photos for each poll because vBulletin software does not allow more than 15 poll options.

I suggest you to visit The Arcane Old Wardrobe's photo gallery and It May All Ends Tomorrow before you submit your 5 favourites in here.

It's simply impossible to please everyone, if you don't agree with the rules, I'd be very appreciate to have some constructive suggestions.

Thank you very much for your help.

I'm also looking for the Slattery photo of Moz drinking the tea from The Early Years book.

    Love this one:

    These are good suggestions.

Again, posted in link format, but:

That last one is possibly the most iconic, I think- a Romantic, melancholy gaze, the expressive hands, the rather garish shirt...

    Dave
    Jools Holland: "Knock Knock!"

    Jools: "Oh, come on."
Morrissey: "I refuse to open the door."

Awww, thank you very much for your brilliant selections, Dave and GWTT.

I need to find a way to modify poll option.

well I find the ones publishes in books as Peepholism and Morrisssey Shot
are a bit to cheesy to contribute

go at Comtesse's site, lots of graet pics in the intervieuws part

also the ones who have very old magazines with early pics, would be
    nice

but the pics from all the books should be avoided, of only used cause they're
legendary as the SLC pic for the Quen is Dead album

anyway, it's a tough, hard, difficult to organize this, so I wish you all the
best and energt, and at least 8 hours sleep, doc's order

    good idea

I mean it's nice poll to let it slip away, or no interest anymore?

    let's say 2 weeks, before a vote?

[frink thread do so well, why not this?]
