Awful song! Especially the chips and cream part.

Disgusting
Great song! The "Shakespeare's Sister" of the solo years.
I love the song.
Objectionable when Sober. Abominable when Drunk.
"Chips with cream" refers to pregnancy cravings, e.g. beetroot and coal (so I've heard). It's meant to be disgusting. Still makes me laugh.
Maybe the record hasn't aged too well but it was very exciting at the time when Morrissey was in full rockabilly swing. Great live on the 1991 tour.
"and the doctor said, don't nod your head until June"
Terrific song and funny to boot.
"I think both me and Morrissey are about as proud as anyone can be about those records. I'm proud of everything the band did, and I'm proud of the relationship, and I'm proud of the friendship. I don't have any feud going on. I support what Andy's doing, and I don't know what Morrissey's doing but I'm behind it." - Johnny Marr, 2013.
Very danceable tune, a comical feel-good number. I like the video, too
One of the songs that Boz could really rockabilly-skank to![]()
Great song, and I've always loved the arcane references to all things pregnancy in the lyrics.
I love it. Especially liveversions, where the lads really rock it out rockabilly-style.
Life is a four-letter word
It's always been one of my favorites - rockin', funny, and a rant against my sister (who has 6 children).
to the rescue nobody ever comes
when He calls me, I do not walk, I run
Great song.I get quite annoyed when I hear Morrissey slag this song and then praise Ouija board whish so so much weaker
Favourite song of the entire solo catalogue![]()

Kicking the shit out of very frightened children
I like it, doesn't take itself too seriously. Just a nice, funny little rockabilly tune. It's one of those that I don't go out of my way to listen to but always enjoy it when it comes onto my iPod randomly.
It's a great song but there's no wonder Moz scuttled his rockabilly album project if EMI decreed that was it;s best song.
How I would've loved that rockabilly-ep... If it was done properly.
