I now understand what I was missing before. Resistance is futile. Having done the following: posted some sixth-form prose/poetry about Morrissey; created some imaginary sleeve-art; learned how to 'frink' and communicate using the medium of smileys and a preponderance of four-letter words; I now feel completely 'at home' on 'so-slow' and as self-satisfied as I've felt since I learned how to roll my tongue into a cylinder at primary school.
Just giving Aeroplane Over the Sea a listen now. At the moment it sounds like the diminished bastard child of James and Dylan, but I'll give it a fair listen to. Doubtless if it's as good as you claim it is it'll grow on me, probably like Illinois by Sufjan Stevens did.
Being a Manc I don't have a clue about American accents, but I'm finding it doesn't really need to be overlooked at all. Just made the switch from quiet speakers to loud headphones now, and I'm quite impressed. On Oh Comely now.
Yes. You need to play that album loud and turn the bass up. Musically it's pre-highway 61 Dylan meets Green Day; lyrically it's absolutely unique. The sleeve-art is gorgeous, the tracklisting is ideal, overall it's a masterpiece.
It's a Summer pop album for depressives.
so underthefloorboards and bailiffwithbadbreath are the same person right?
