    Default johnny marr guitar sound

can anyone out there help me out as far as what kind of setup johnny marr used to get that nice, jangly Birds-y sound on his guitar?
also, any guitar players out there who could suggest some settings for effects that might recreate that sound? please email me if you can help.

    thanks in advance!

Be careful. If I teach it to you ,you might be tempted to waste years of your life.

the closest i can get is a Rickenbacker 330 through a Vox AC30. a different route to get a similar tone is a Telecaster through a Marshall JCM 800 head with a 4x12 cab loaded with Celestion 25 watt greenbacks.

If there is anything i have learned about johnny's playing style its far from being just about his guitar(although that may have something to do with it).I have a rare copy of "Louder than bombs, the complete picture". Its an interesting copy because it has more then just a single line of guitar tab, it has all the guitar tracks, bass and drums. What he does is play tracks upon tracks......take for instance "please please let me get what i want", he uses a 12 string accoustic, and two 6 string electrics. What you have when its all said and done is three almost identical tracks with different sounds. Its a rather difficult sound to replicate. If you want any songs from this copy let me know and i can send you all the tracks along with effects and capo positions.

The sad thing about it thats its now out of print, whoever bought out sire records put a ban on such prints......now all you can get is that crappy chord and words stuff that is far from the real deal.
