Which brings me on to the Silence of Morrissey's main writing partner Alain Whyte. With all due respect to Alain he was more or less a jobbing musician in North London before Morrissey.Nevertheless he worked frantically and even in his first few years with Morrissey was working almost constantly when it was all quiet on the Morrissey front.

It looked like Johnny Panic was going to fill his time, whilst Moz was snatching his ball back and shouting"I'm not playing anymore",but after the very average singe"When I drink"...nothing.How odd is that?.Any musician will tell you that playing live and having music you have written released is the ultimate buzz. Why has this former workaholic ground to a halt and succumbed so meeky to Morrisseys "can work, but can't be bothered to" ethos ?

Thank God for Martin Boorer. By far the most friendly of Morrissey's inner sanctum who keeps the flames of musicianship burning brightly.
