The interesting thing about mic-whipping is that (at least from my point of view), you can either pull it off or you can't.
I've tried incorporating it when I've performed live, but it just didn't seem to evoke the same feeling.

I like the snaps, high arcs, long, hard whips *ahem* It's when he plays with it a little -like he's not sure what else to do with his hands- I find boring. He certainly does play with it alot.

I vividly recall being at the stage in Merrillville and watching the mic cord snake and snap, hearing the whip and cracks...the cord had more velocity than I was expecting. It sounded dangerous and kind of was. I kept thinking he must know the exact distance from where he's at to the faces of the people in the front row or he's just a master at the art of cord whip. Prolly both.

Didn't someone say on the main board after a show this summer, that he did strike a security guy (one of the ones standing on the floor in front of the stage) in the head? It said he went over an patted the guy on the shoulder and mouthed 'sorry!' I vaguely remember the post saying the security guy was quite stunned by the force of it.

Oh! Gotcha! High hopes for dirty minds. I tried to find a dirty joke online about mic cords but I couldn't. Just a clean one that was so not funny I deleted it before posting this.

I have secretly wondered if he's ever had a bedmate ask him to do something cord-related. Hmmm..... I don't think I'd want to be tied up or anyting, but if he wanted to make a tiny loop and give my bottom a little spank, I think I'd be into it.
