Does anybody know if this is really Boz Boorer's Facebook page? I suspect it is, based on an online chat I just had with him. I asked some stuff about guitars used at Dallas, TX show and he was spot on. If it's him, he is incredibly cool to chat with fans.
What format? CD? MP3? Just hit play. Just kidding.
I think "Headmaster's Ritual" is in Open G tuning and just requires some simple barre chords/strumming/chord positions.
Re: Dallas April 10 Meetup?
September... after I called you guys they opened the doors from the bar entrance and next thing I know I was sort of third row center. So I stayed there! It was pretty intense.
Let's stay in touch. Hopefully Moz will be back!
Re: Dallas April 10 Meetup?
I will see you guys there. Look for a guy wearing jeans and a black Morrissey shirt from You are the Quarry (Gothic letters).
All I know is that the original release of Maladjusted had the WORST cover art of any Morrissey album. Terrible, amateurish art direction. And this coming from something who thinks the original Southpaw Grammar artwork is brilliant in a low-fi kinda way.
Bachelor in a Casserole
The Swirling Clergyman’s Lament
St. Sebastian’s Disused Quiver
Dolorous Dolores
Gracious Knows These Trousers Bind
Oh man this cracks me up. From this hilarious site that I have nothing to do with, just stumbled upon: http://www.5ives.com/
Good points. I have been listening to Rank in addition to his solo live albums and he sure does make a lot of little grunts and rolling "R's". I guess he wants all the little things to come across.
Come to think of it, it's probably those things that have kept me interested in him for two...
Has anybody noticed how unnaturally high in the mix Morrissey's lead vocals are on Live at Earl's Court (relative to the band and the already sparse backup vocals)? It's almost like karaoke in places and can make it hard for me to listen to this album with headphones.
I just picture...
Re: How high would you people, rate yor, compared to previous almums
Bottom third. Not breaking any new ground lyrically...and same musically since Southpaw Grammar. Having said that...it is better than most new releases you're likely to encounter these days.
For me, the high points are...
Re: Dallas April 10 Meetup?
The more the merrier! We just need to work out the details as the date nears. Not sure if I will be among those who queue up in the morning. Maybe we can trade mobile numbers?
NOTE: The Palladium is in a bit of an industrial area. I don't think there are any pubs...
I love all kinds of music and happen to also be a big Stones fan. Technically it was 1978 when Jagger last wore misguided trousers and mascara while playing a Fender guitar.
Does anybody else feel a tinge of irony when you listen to "Get Off the Stage" (B-side to Piccadilly Palare). The song was written with Mick Jagger in mind who would have been 46 in 1989.
GET OFF THE STAGE
Oh, you silly old man
You silly old man
You're making a fool of yourself
So get...
Re: Dallas April 10 Meetup?
Mr. Tibbles. I was kinda hoping to get up front too. In 2007, we were pretty much in the back because I didn't want my wife to get smushed. Maybe we can meet and line up early on the day of the show?
Also, how great is it that there are 20-year olds getting into...
Re: Dallas April 10 Meetup?
Just shoot me an email as the date nears. For the record, I'm old at 38 and no... this is not some veiled attempt at anything other than rocking out to Moz with some fellow fans.
And no, I won't buy you beer.
