Unfounded tour rumour-mill

In today's NME, there is an advert for some all-dayer-type gigs at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester...the bands have been announced for the 11th and 12th of July but for the final date, all that is stated is "Very Special Artist - to be announced April 2nd."

So, "V.S. Artist" certainly fits and so does the place and time of year for the rumoured tour.

Remember where you heard it first!

I rang the ticket office of Birmingham Academy in Birmingham-England and the girl I spoke to said there were no dates arranged YET for Morrissey to play there in the summer. But she said she had heard the rumours herself that something was in the pipeline and she expected there would be some news in the next few weeks.

I came off the phone none the wiser but felt there is a light at the end of the tunnel and think there is a very good chance that the rumours are true of a summer UK tour. Let's keep our fingers crossed people.

record deal he deserves for what he had done
so far, it's unbelieveable that he has no deal
                yet.
Morrissey has been focusing on the USA too long,
yes he's populair, his fame still seems to be
growing all over the USA, but no company is
willing to give him that deal in this difficult
period for every label because recordsales are
going down fast, the past 2 ,3 years, since the
                the MP3 flow.
To come to the point, he has forgotten his
England and more, Europe, so my guess is he will
do some Uk gigs, a few European Summerfestivals,
maybe a few Californian [LA ] shows, but the
main reason is to get a UK recorddeal [or a european] because he lost hope that it will happen in the USA .
