"Twisted Tenderness" is bloody brilliant! I love it hysterically much... Johnny´s a genious. That´s all there is to it.

I am holding out for a used copy. The new ones are $25-$33 because they are imports here in the US. It may be good, but too bloody expensive for me!

I really want to buy it! 'Raise the Pressure' is a great album, so I'm confident about this one. I'll have to save up some disposable cash and fork it over for the old import, I suppose.... The plight of being on the wrong side of the Atlantic...

I received my import copy just the other day.
It is allright, much better than their first two outings, but that isn't saying much.
Wait until you find a used copy.
I got the latest Marion at the same time which Marr produces, performs on and co-wrote one of the songs. It too is wishy-washy. Their first release sans-Marr was as comparable.
Oh well, have to satisfy those little curiousities sometimes.

'twisted tenderness' is incredibly good -- johnny is absolutely amazing on it! it's definitely their best work so far, which is saying a lot because they haven't released anything less than excellent prior to this. fyi, i bought my copy of the cd last month when i was visiting london, and paid the regular price of 16.49 pounds, which works out to about $26. so, it's really not that much more expensive when you buy it imported.

Twisted Tenderness is an awesome CD. It's a must buy for any Johnny Marr fan. Also, Sumner provides some truly excellent lyrics. Check this album out!!

Johnny Marr does some of his best guitar work on this album. Can't find my way home is great and so is Make it Happen. Damn do I miss the Smiths sometimes.....

Maybe in the next world

I have it. It's great, the title song alone is worth the import price.

I'm really starting to get into it. I love Johnny Marr's contribution to the album. The guitars are great and that harmonica part in vivid it is just splendid.

I must say that Bernard RUINS the album.... Especially songs like Haze and When she's gone which could have been much, much better...

If anyone is interested in ordering a copy of "Twisted Tenderness", check out A&B Sound. They are an internet store based in Canada, with really cheap prices and a somewhat decent selection. You can find them at www.absound.ca .
Twisted Tenderness sells for $20.49 Cdn/$14.01 US.

"Twisted Tenderness" is according to myself the best Electronic album so far. It´s more New Order than ever before. It feels like a good warm-up before New Order releases their new material. Also I´m eagerly waiting for the new album from Other Two (Stephen Morris och Gillian Gilbert from New Order) "Superhighways" it should have been released a couple of weeks ago in sweden but has been delayed some weeks. Warner says that the sound is more club oriented up-tempo stuff than before but some trax are melancoli alá New Order. Sounds intresting!

Wow! This is the best Electronic's album! At last, we hear again more Johhny's magic guitar and less synthesizers. Many songs seems confused anyway. The only one it seems to hear fine, is the last, "Flicker". It's a great masterpiece. "Haze" is great too! And "Make it happen" is a little bit experimental. Great buy, boys! The worst thing in this album (and in the previous ones) is Bernard Sumner. If johnny was alone, surely the songs were much better.

Johnny IS DEAD ... ... since 1987.
How can someone like walk away from the most briliant, marvellously band in the 80's like that?
How can someone accuse Morrissey in is solo career , if Johnny can't do any better....
Johnny IS DEAD ... ... since 1987.
I'm sorry too.
I do.
But Johnny leave me and you...
He drop one's mask.
(sorry for my English)
Miguel.

the first one was ok, the second was better...but this...this is SH*T! not worth a dime. bernard needs to stick with new order, and johnny just needs to give it up. as does sad old morrissey. they just refuse to age with dignity.

On this album, Johnny proves that he is the pre-eminent guitar player. Call him god, whatever you like. There are no others. "Haze" is the track that Jimi Hendrix wishes was on his own boxed set. Barney is Johnny's perfect foil. It's not The Smiths, it's not New Order, but hey, it's 1999 and Electronic is the very best next thing.

- How can you say that.
THE VERY BEST NEXT THING TO THE SMITHS IS ... ELECTRONIC...
"IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT".
GET LOST...
HAVE YOU HEARD TO MORRISSEY... I DON'T THINK SO.
IF THE SMITHS DIDN'T END LIKE THEY DO, THEY WOULD SOUND JUST LIKE MORRISSEY'S SONGS TODAY..
SMITHS FORVEVER.
MORRISSEY FOREVER.

I don't understand how you guys can not think that Electronic's first album was not a masterpiece. Songs like "get the message" and "try all you want" were magnificent. As for Raise the Pressure I didn't think it was nearly as good --too much synthisizer not enough guitar. Looking forward to a N.A. release sometime soon.

I just have to add that it is quite difficult for anyone to be pleased with mainstream American music. Therefore, Electronic's new album "Twisted Tenderness" is brilliant. We can only wonder what Joy Division would have sounded like in 1999. Would there be no New Order. Would there be no Electronic. Electronic probably wouldn't exist and what would Johnny Marr do? Honestly, I have read many comments of Johnny Marr being God, and Morrissey being a lost genius never writing another good song after the smiths. Well, some of us just need to open our minds and be thankful that Johnny Marr and Morrissey are STILL making music. This is a wonderful gift to our society. We can also thank people like Erasure, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Tom Waits and Sparks. These bands among others put out product that constantly progresses and hopefully inspires numerous bands to record music in the next millenium. The year 2000 is coming up. People are all lined up now to watch the ball drop in times square. Music on modern radio is lamer than ever. Only die hard fans continue to support Morrissey and Marr while others write them off as yesterdays news. But, both men are still bringing something wonderful to modern day music by refusing to leave. Both continue to pick up their crown and septor and sing to those whom choose to listen. For that they are very much appreciated. Bernard Sumner is welcome to. I, just like the next person know that almost all of Bernard Sumners' songs mention lying and all of Erasures mention love. But, isn't that what makes us smirk and appreciate them all the better. All I'm saying is in America, as we wring in the new year. Ricky Martin will be blaring the country as that infamous ball drops. An egotistical fool named Martin will be singing his "La Vida Loca" as we move into a new century, new millenium, and new year. So much for progress. I wonder when the people of America will begin to like a new song. I think that it may be okay to like two songs in one year. Eh? Well, in conclusion I think we all just need to welcome any effort our friend Morrissey and Marr or Frank Black for that matter contribute into our CD collections. One day will come when we need to stop saying we only like the song Suedehead or the Smiths or the Pixies were better. Let us just enjoy their new product and stop buying crap like Ricky Martin, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Sugar Ray. Let's stop attending numerous Ozzfests and Ted Nugent concerts and let us hold hands and go buy import CD's instead. This summer is San Antonio Ted Nugent, Iron Maiden, Ricky Martin, NSYNC, JOurney/ Foreigner, etc. are all coming in concert and the whole city is a buzzin with happiness. Ugh..thank you Morrissey and Marr for delivering us from lame bands such as these that unfortunaly are so popular amongst the same mainstream that say that all of your current efforts are half-arsed. These people say that and then go spend their good money on ozzfest instead of buying your recent CD's. But, isn't that why you started the Smiths in the first place because the World Won't Listen and maybe it never will. But, the part of the world that still does listen thanks you sincerly and hunger for every new release you (both Marr and Morrissey) continue to put out.

I thought "Raise the Pressure" was absolutely Great. "Twisted Tenderness" is, I am sorry to say, disappointing. The hooks are not as strong and the lyrics are not substantive at all. The new CD rocks a bit more than the previous two but it seems a bit forced. Are they trying to gain acceptance by reacting to music trends as opposed to following their hearts? If so, they are a few years too late. The guitar trend is waning and pop music is coming on strong. It is unfortunate timing that Electronic is shifting away from the hooky dance pop sound toward a more edgy, less hookish, guitar sound just as the trend is reversing. Not many people bought or were even aware of CD#2 "Raise the Pressure." That is the Electronic CD to track down and buy if you liked the first CD. Cut for cut "Raise" is about as perfect as a CD could be.

I ordered "Twisted Tenderness" from CD-Now as soon as it became available. It was well worth paying the import price! Electronic has given it their all to produce one of the best sounding albums of their career. I highly recomend purchasing it if you've been a Electronic fan in the past.

I heard yesterday that they would be releasing Twisted in the USA in October.

I am astonished and disappointed that Johnny Marr didn't write o n e good song since he left the Smiths, and that although he was, in musical terms, the whole band (exaggeration). But I must add that I haven't heard all too much of him.
