I'd agree that "There is a light.." is in a class of its own as the most romantic Moz song ever.

My Love Life is just a lovely song. When I close my eyes and listen, I feel the music lift me up almost as though I'm floating, and his voice is a smoothe vessel that takes me wherever I want to go.

I really love this one. I voted for another on the forums, so I'm happy I got to vote on here as well. Morrissey has so many great songs about Love. I can't just pick one! I want them all!!!

"Reel Around the Fountain" has always struck me as being a song filled with sorrow--and ambivalence.

I imagine the subject of the song as being victimized as a child--only to grow into an adult who is filled with feelings of ambivalence: both affection and sadness at a disturbing relationship. The song is reflective, introspective, and confrontational.

There is nothing romantic about this song at all.

I guess is all depends on what you consider romantic.....all Morrissey love songs are somewhat mixed with sadness/despair. I know it's Over/Well I wonder/Last Night I dreamt/Late Night Maudlin St./Let me kiss you....the list goes on. They are all so beautiful. I agree that Come back to Camden should definintely be on that list as well.

'Let Me Kiss You' is the second most romantic song followed closely by 'I Like You.'

I most certainly agree, "I Won't Share You" tops my list.

i voted "other" for "well i wonder," which, really, has summed up the mad rush of calamity and emotion that leaves one "gasping, but somehow still alive.." so many great lines in that song. hell, it even has rain augmenting johnny marr's gorgeous music! now what lovesick romantic hasn't sat by a window on such a rainy day, fogging it up with lusty breath and writing your true love's name, watching it disappear? that is exactly the vibe this song gives me, and obsessive longing, being my favorite bittersweet element of romance, is what "well i wonder" encompasses in just a few lines.

Answering this was like trying to answer the question of what my favorite song is. Virtually impossible. So I went with 'first thought, best thought.'

First album, first track (in the US). America had yet to know the face behind the deep voice who wouldn't say no to 15 minutes with us. Swept off our feet, not knowing what hit us, we have never been the same since.

"to me you are a work of art" (off of Ringleader) perfectly described my situation for a time - finding someone in a world that disgusts you. Maybe not your favorite, but it is appropriate nonetheless.

"I don't have much in my life, but take it it's yours" - beautifully romantic, brings tears to the eyes, despite the intended reciever never hearing the line ("if only you'd come near me")
