  • Don't complain about lack of options. You've got to pick a few when you do multiple choice. Those are the breaks.
  • Feel free to suggest poll ideas if you're feeling creative. I'd strongly suggest reading the past polls first.
  • This whole thing is wildly inaccurate. Rounding errors, ballot stuffers, dynamic IPs, firewalls. If you're using these numbers to do anything important, you're insane.

This song is a hidden gem. Tender and beautiful, Morrissey explains how he will love and protect and care for someone... a child perhaps(?)

No other Smiths/Morrissey song matches the haunting, lyrical beauty of this simple track. It is sheer poetry, too--

    "Ceiling shadows shimmy by..."

    "To tease, torment, and tantalise..."

    And, best of all:

"And when the wardrobe towers like a beast of prey/
There's sadness in your beautiful eyes/
Oh, your untouched, unsoiled, wonderous eyes/
My life down I shall lie/
    Should restless spirits try/
To play tricks on your sacred mind"

    Original poetry by Morrissey.

    With love,

Pretty much any of these songs would be great. People have been clamoring to hear This Charming Man live forever, so that would be the obvious choice, but his band now would really be scrutinized in how they pulled it off. What Difference Does it Make would probably be the best fit for his current band, I think.

I'd faint if he played Suffer Little Children, but I think maybe he should wait til the Moz/Marr reunion for that one...I can't picture anyone but Johnny playing that song.

As a collection of songs it as good as anything they released after it but it's such a shame it was marred by poor production. After hearing the majestic version of 'Reel Around The Fountain' they recorded for the Radio One sessions, I couldn't believe they settled for the rather sterile version that appeared on the debut. And it was the same for most of the other songs on the record as well with most of us probably having heard a superior version of each one elsewhere. I'd love to hear a live version of 'I Don't Owe You Anything' to see how it would sound now that Morrissey's voice has developed so much since the early days.
