  • Don't complain about lack of options. You've got to pick a few when you do multiple choice. Those are the breaks.
  • Feel free to suggest poll ideas if you're feeling creative. I'd strongly suggest reading the past polls first.
  • This whole thing is wildly inaccurate. Rounding errors, ballot stuffers, dynamic IPs, firewalls. If you're using these numbers to do anything important, you're insane.

2004: Morrissey saved my life (Score:0)
I discovered Morrissey in 2004 just before YATQ. I saw him on Jonathan Ross, knowing little about him, and was instantly in awe of the man. His performance on Jools that year was brilliant and I became an instant fan. I think the following day - though I can't be certain about dates - I went into town and bought YATQ, the first record I'd ever bought with my own money. Morrissey not only changed my life, he saved it. I found him at a point where I needed him, he comforted me and reassured me during a difficult time, he seemed to be singing about my life. So that performance will always be special for me. Though the performance this year was also excellent, love the new songs and can't wait for the new album! Viva Moz!

Jools does his best...but asks silly questions...Moz responds as only Moz can!! A TV CLASSIC!

That said, the 2004 return was good and included the Badger Watch quip.

I think there is a two series Situation Comedy here with Jools and Moz sharing a house (or bed ala Eric & Ernie), getting into amusing sitatiions each week, solving crimes and travelling around England in a van accompanied by Morrissey's dog.

1995. Boy Racer and Sunny. He looks extraordinary - great suit, great hair - and the interview is just bonkers. Why does he always look to the camera? He's still doing it to this day.

But the best performance was probably the latest, with the dodgy James Dean tie. First time I got to hear All You Need Is Me and Something Is Squeezing My Skull.

I think a Morrissey Special of Later... next year to celebrate the big 5-0. Morrissey headlining, but all the other bands play Moz covers. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

I remember the December 92 performance fondly - and regularly re-visit it on You tube. This is the definitive line up and Moz never looked better. Having finally thrown off his Smith's era thrift shop cardigans and ill fitting jackets, he embraced his influences lock, stock and barrel: Adore the glitter shirt, the sideburns, the Union flag, the skinheads, Alan’s hair, Boz’s motorcycle jacket. Magnificent. When you hear these guys doing Suedehead so wonderfully, you shudder to think what an awful racket his current rent-a-rockers would do with it. No contest – hands down the best ever Moz TV performance ever.

I have to agree with the above poster. This is one of his best appearances ever...Especially coming after the "Live in Dallas" era, where we all wondered if he could even sing at all live. All the Smiths stuff I'd seen up to that point had him lip-synching, so it was good to hear him sing properly and the band not sounding thin and slightly out of tune. (Check out his performance on Johnny Carson from that era for more examples...)

                Bleedin' wonderful this is.

He has by far the most interesting show that not only has class, but also some of the best bands in the world. I loved him when I saw him with Squeeze in Boston in the 80's. He was like a total ringleader. Oh, I thought Moz was great every appearance.

Mr Morrissey calmly lifted the microphone to his lips and said: 'Badger Watch'.

Exit stage left a deflated Mr Holland.
