  • Don't complain about lack of options. You've got to pick a few when you do multiple choice. Those are the breaks.
  • Feel free to suggest poll ideas if you're feeling creative. I'd strongly suggest reading the past polls first.
  • This whole thing is wildly inaccurate. Rounding errors, ballot stuffers, dynamic IPs, firewalls. If you're using these numbers to do anything important, you're insane.

but Life Is A Pigsty really is smashing live. Its one of the best actual recordings he's released in years, ansd its about ten times better live as well, especially with the Auld Lang Syne segueway (sic?) into How Soon Is Now.

I think a lot of the Ringleader tracks are better live than on record, really. At Last I Am Born is really, really horrible on the album, but live its a bit more of an in-your-face moment, and tracks like ...Boy Happy and Far Off places sound so much more powerful live.

The only ones I felt fell a bit flat on their faces live we Anybody's Hero, which I love on the album, and Dear God, which felt a bit MOR live, compared to the lovely recorded version.

'Life is a pigsty' is the best track on the album because it is a fresh new sound and the only unique song on the entire album. The voice is beautiful, the lyrics are interesting, the sound is out of the ordinary for a Morrissey album and, amongst the other songs on 'Ringleader' ensures it is the obvious standout track and a rightful Morrissey classic.

We all love Morrissey and want to believe everything he does is as good as it gets, but sadly, 'Ringleader' has too many forgettable songs. Add this to his insistence to play every song off the album throughout the tour, including too many at any one gig and I think in time, it will become the album his longer term fans are most uncomfortable with. I always go and see Morrissey, but I actually turned tickets down this time because I thought he would again subject us to most of the album. The latest set lists are much improved, but he should have still played 'Pigsty' and no more than two or three more at any of the new shows.

There are a few other good songs on the album, but 'Pigsty' is the track that makes me choose to play the album and therefore selecting a few others to listen to at the same time.

'You are the Quarry' put Morrissey back at the top with both new fans and old as well as the critics and just about every band that matters around singing his praises. The live shows were great and he reached the top ten with every single. I am afraid that Morrissey and Morrissey alone has undone all the good work and has seemingly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The chart placings and current ticket sales are proof of that.

'Pigsty' would be a great and interesting direction for the next album. Lets get away from safety.
