In response to the April Fool's Day prank;I can definitely see the connection between Morrison, and Morrissey. There have been few events in the past includiing me, where people thought that I listened to Jim Morrison from the doors, instead of Morrissey from the Smiths, whenever I mentioned the name Morrissey.

Aw too bad i missed that! Yup there has also been times when i would play "How soon is now?" for someone and they told me it sounded like The Doors! I see no relation whatsoever though. Oh and i hate when i wear a Morrissey shirt and people say.. "Hmm i know who Jim morrison is but, who's MORRISSEY?!" Nice pic of Jim by the way :-)

Hey kUrt, the same thing happens to me. "What are you listening to?" they ask, "Morrissey" I say, and their response, "The Doors?."

Im so sorry I missed the April fools joke it would of been a really, really big, huge, terrible insult to my loyal admiration to Morrissey. I also hate it when I wear my moz shirts to school and many of the ignorant people don't even bother to finish reading the whole name or even look at the "PORTRAIT" of my beloved MORRISSEY and always say "Oh is that Jim Morrisson." and I always respond in a annoyed tiresom way saying "Excuse me but don't you even dare insult my beloved"

ahh, man! i missed it! cool picture of jim morrison, though. very good band. unloved then, unloved now, but very much to be taken from the music, lyrics and message."before you slip into unconsciousness, i'd like to have another kiss, another flashing chance at bliss, another kiss, another kiss the days are bright and filled with pain, enclose me in your gentle rain, the time you ran was too insane, we'll meet again, we'll meet again, oh' tell me where your freedon lies, the streets are fileds that never die, deliver me from reasons why, you'd rather cry, i'd rather fly..." -the crystal ship love,

well, first i noticed the page was pink and red and i thought it was just david doing a style change. i didn't look at it closely at all because there was no new news. i looked at the picture and i was like, "what is that? Oscar Wilde?" because i couldn't see the face in it's entirety and it looked like an old timey black and white photo.then people in the discussion area started making comments about it.....sometimes i'm not very astute observer when it comes to things...

Nevermind Jim Morrison, when I say I listen to Morrissey as my favourite musician, people have a blank stare for 2.3 seconds, and then exclaim, "Oh, you mean VAN MORRISON!"(Ohhh, sorry, you're right. I forgot my favourite artist's name for a sec. Whew, thanks for clearing that up)

I was once wearing a t-shirt with Morrisseys face on it and some man asked, " Wow who is that guy on your shirt?" I answered "Morrissey." He then went on and on about how great Jim Morrissey(Not Jim Morrison) had been and if i like the movie about the Doors. I think he was drunk or at least i hope he had been.

well, the jim morrison and van morrison misunderstandings are common place....however, there must be another singer named morrissey-- bill morrissey, i think. when i checked into my hotel in ventura, california the girl at the desk asked me why i was in town. i told her to see morrissey. she kept on, "oh, bill morrissey?" i finally was able to explain which morrissey. i asked her about this other morrissey character, "all i know--he's a singer too." and i've noticed several "bill morrissey" cds for sale on E-bay. and an artist named "dean morrissey". no relation, i'm sure.

Glad it's not true, but even if it was it could be worse. At least it's not Alanis Morrissette!

I just saw Morrissey live yesterday here in Sao Paulo (as well as the day before yesterday at the same theater, and on Saturday in Curitiba!! And last year in California. No words...) and I also saw Alanis at the same theater in Sao Paulo about two or three years ago...the only thing I found in common for them so far...the concerts were quite different, I must say!!!! But I was already asked about a connection of these two names...who cares, better for us, more exclusivity. The privilege is ours!!!!
