Andy Bell from ride has joined Oasis. Maybe be can prevent them from reaching even greater levels of @#!!!tiness,(but I doubt it). Also Noel could you keep the bad lanuage to a minimum. The 4 letter word should be used sparingly and in proper context, for instance, your albums are f***ing @#!!!, and your 2 chord strumming is f***ing @#!!!.

I think the next Morrissey Poll should be "Why do Morrissey fans hate OASIS so much?" Noel gives opinions as you, a Morrissey fan, would. I, myself, have asked, "Why couldn't the Smiths be The Rolling Stones and go on forever?" Noel has a good head on his shoulders musically. He might have been drunk when he talking during that interview but gees, all you people ARE very judgemental! ! ! Oasis is a great band and has composed very good music. If there is anyone to blame for their success, it is The Smiths, for without them, the would be no OASIS. When Noel saw The Smiths on Top of the Pops for the first time, that is when he knew he wanted to be a Rock Star.

Some of you really suck.Not only are U2 one of the most creative forces this century has seen(fact), but they have certainly produced some of the finest music ever heard(opinion.) Whether you appreciate them or not, here are some more facts for those who would slag them off.
1. Although Bono's lyrics can be cliche, he has written some very powerfull and poetic lyrics.
2. They are one the greatest live bands of all time. Fact, not opinion. I could go on... A shame Moz fans must be so elitist and judgemental(like myself)... On that note, to all who don't appreciate U2 - @#!!! you.

Maybe all of you are forgetting that it was Johnny Marr who gave Noel a guitar and alot of advice when Oasis were starting out. They tend to be bit unoriginal at times, but to say they are @#!!! is not just elitist, but ingorant.

To add to Johnny Marr giving Noel his guitar, the guitar was accidentally distroyed one night at a performance and Johnny had it replaced the VERY next day. He sees exactly what I see in Noel. Talent from the beginning. As for U2. No other band has ever sold tickets an entire year in advance for a concert. There has not been one single released that was not a hit by both U2 and Oasis. Give the music a chance. Personally, I hate Liam's singing, but it is lyrics and the music. I am sorry to say but Morrissey himself really hasn't set an example for his single releases. I am just being honest. We all know it's true.

I am sick of all the anti-Oasis crap I hear everywhere. Yes, Noel and Liam may be complete a-holes and they wouldn't give a nickel to a beggar, but they are one of the best rock n roll bands of all time. The music is nothing short of AMAZING. Perhaps if they were more humanitarian, and actually nice, music fans would embrace them and appreciate their music-which is what counts. Noel is a genius, and along with Moz, is one of the best things to ever come out of Manchester music-wise.

Oh Christ! and I thought it was cause Jonny left the band, and everybody sued eachother. I've never bought one of their records ever, and don't listen to them, but kudos to U2 for keeping it together all these years. why is it that any time we talk about any other band on this site it ends up being very negative? here's noel saying how sad it is that the smiths broke up and he still gets bashed by a bunch of losers who only listen to one band and hate eveything else. sorry john I'm not singling you out I really don't know how you feel about all other bands.

Abrahan Garza has just made me more enraged! I'm pretty good at reading people (Majored in Psyc, BS 1991), and Abrahan seems to be someone very uncomfortable with his sexuality. It is sad that he is disappointed in us Morrissey fans, like I care that he is ashamed. Grow up you pansy.From a musical standpoint U2 have done nothing substantial but be around with 1 mediocre song to the next, for years, probably to many years. Big deal. Though I don't HATE U2, I think they are very uncreative, and Bono's writing leaves much to be desired.
Oasis sucks...pure an simple. Paul McCartney said it best when he said "they're a great Beatles tribute band...nothing more". They think they're musical gods, and frankly can kiss my ass. This interview makes the guy sound even more pathetic then he looks, every other word an "f" word, like when you were in school and the bully used alot of swaer words to make himself seem bigger than he really was...same mentality. Their music and lyrics are @#!!!. They've all done too many mind altering drugs, which is very apparent from this interview.

People, people... What is your problem? You call Noel judgemental and a @!!**!@, which proves that you yourselves are exactly as judgemental and badmouthed as he is. The thing about music is that it is a matter of taste (some like Britney Spears, some like Sepultura - personally I dont like either), and we all have different taste. I for one like Oasis, I think their first album is one of the best rock'n'roll albums of the 90s, and U2 has been one of my favourite bands for the past 10 years. But why do you have to be so incredibly negative about everything? Have Noel or Bono insulted you guys personally. It would seem so. Why else would you react so violently to this innocent interview, which actually praises The Smiths? Yes, Morrissey rocks, but he is not perfect himself - I am sorry, but he's not. So please, cool it, it's beginning to be a sad affair to read all these negative comments, and yes this is one of them, I know. Europa - this is no such album.Zooropa, although experimental and recorded in the midst of touring, had some fine songs. Including "Stay" which rivals much of Mozzer's lyrics. How can you judge an album if you don't know the name of it? "Pop" gets disrespected a lot (mostly in America), yet had some fine songs as well.
"Gone", "Mofo", etc. Get your @#!!! staight. Scott

I am pretty amazed that Noel Gallagher liked the Smiths. I have a bit of a different attitude towards him as a person after reading that. I have only heard negative things about Mr. Gallagher but I think that Oasis is a great band. I have a live recording of them when they played in Milwaukee (my hometown) and during the performance of one of the songs Liam stops singing and blasts a fan for stage diving. I thought it was hilarious. U2 are one of my favorite bands as well. There is nothing more to say to those U2 bashers out there but watch the video for "Sunday Bloody Sunday" live at Red Rocks Colorado and tell me that U2 are'nt one of the great bands of our time. Of course next to the Smith (world's greatest underappreciated band)

I've always thought that Noel is a bigger fan of Morrissey than he would lead us to believe. We all know about the Johnny Marr homage but ultimately who cares? Oasis made is good to be alive for the period between 94-96. After that it became one big boring trendy party back at Supernova heights. The 'People's Band' does not have lunch with pathetic creatures like Liz and Hugh.
Being Irish I am biased towards U2. We adored them before England had even heard of them. All those old records are the soundtrack of childhood for a lot of Irish people like myself. We are very proud of our musical heritage and our music press is a lot more open minded than the British music press. There is no desire for credibility over here, just 'three chords and the truth.'
I know U2 went off the rails a bit in the late '80s but they have made some fantastic records. Still, they have come nowhere near a 'Strangeways' or 'Queen Is Dead'.
Hot Press magazine used to include The Smiths in the Best Irish Band catagory and were also going to include Oasis until they changed the format in 1994. In 1998 U2 won Best Irish Band at a ceremony in Belfast and guess who presented Bono and Adam with the award? That's right, Morrissey who refered to them as 'the very sexy U2'.
But I think U2 know. I think (I hope) Noel Knows. Knows what you may ask. Well it's something along the lines of what the last great writer for the NME, Mr Stuart Macconie, once said. It is that all these bands, although great and with their own level of importance, know in their heart of hearts they were not a patch on the Smiths.
But The Smiths is dead so on we go.

hey Abrahan...since your the only one out there in Texas that seems to have a good open mind about great rock-n-roll bands, maybe it will rub off on Anna, she sounds a LITTLE bitter about the fab-five, she talks about Noel like she knows him personally or something, don't believe everything you read about OASIS, if their not your cup of tea, well that's fine, but don't get hot and bothered because the chaps go out and have one or two pint of lagers, and Moz is drinking tea, that's there personal life. I've seen Moz perform live 16 times and the Smiths twice, and i have seen OASIS perform several times, because i think they are great bands, not because of how they look or what they say, because of their music. So don't rip the brothers of how they look, i'm sure they can care less of what you think, and i'm sure Moz would'nt be too proud of you(ha,ha). Anyway you took the comments out of text, next time think before you write, Noel said he would have wished to see the SMITHS become as big as U2 since their both from Manchester, but you know some people just can't get along, anyway enough of the chit-chat, throw more stuff towards me i'm getting bored.

Anna,Well Anna, now that's a lot better now i'm talking to someone, for a minute i thought you were a MOZ clone. You're point very well taken, at this point in your life i'm sure threr's alot of angst, & i guess MOZ is the one, he was for me at that age. I'm fond of OASIS because there was'nt much around before them, MOZ was stale and grunge depressed the hell out of me, then i heard "live forever" and it inspired me to listen to another cd that was'nt full of junk, sure they have alot of mushy pop songs, but they have great b-sides.
