Checking the back of the 'Malady Lingers On' video, it looks like her name is Megan Siller. (I hope I'm right in assuming that - the video sleeve appears to thank people, other than the band, who appear in each video track.)

Don't be silly Stan, that would simply be worthless trivia. :-)

Does anyone know what the motivation for writing a song like "You're the one for me Fatty" is? It seemed to be an obsession Morrissey and the group had against fatness back in 1991-1992 when Morrissey came out with that song. Morrissey was extremely thin back then, and so was most of the group (Boz was a lil' guy back then too). I was at his concert in Minneapolis in 92 and when he was singing that song, I swear that one of the fattest girls in the audience tried to get on stage and fell off and hit the ground by the security guys. It was a pretty sad, yet kind of comical moment. I thought I was imagining it, but there she was, completely not embarassed of her size, during that song of all songs, trying to get on stage to do who knows what. Maybe it was a coincidence, or maybe she felt that Morrissey really digs big girls. It seems like a funny song, and it was funny to see that huge girl trying to rush the stage, but I actually think that it's kind of sick to record such a song. Now that Morrissey's face (not his body) is looking more on the chubby side, maybe he'll stop singing that sad, cruel, pathetic song.

moz likes fatties as friends, but he wouldn't date 'em. when your arsenal was released a lot of people in the UK press said "fatty" sounded like a song Kirsty MacColl would write, whatever that means.

You people are so @#!!!ing sad obsessing over this! Ultimately the title is a Oscar Wilde reference with the video twisting it a bit, perhaps the last clever thing Moz has done in a declining career.

How in the world is 'Fatty' a cruel song? From the get-go, Morrissey has always rooted for the underdog, the loaner, the less-fortunate.

My only point was that to someone who is obese or overweight, they may find the song to be cruel and pointless. I just think the song is childish, and maybe I'm just not getting what his motivation was for writing such a stupid song. I'm not overweight, but I try to be respectful of people who are battling with trying to lose weight. And really, like any of us need to know that the woman, Megan Siller from the video is in a commercial. Big deal!! This website is really scraping to find things to post. How about an update on Morrissey's plans for recording a new album and how he's doing finding a record deal. Now that would be of interest to Morrissey fans. Or should we focus in on the cat in the Glamorous Glue video? How is he doing these days? Do you think he's still alive? Let's do a poll.

Stan, It's funny we both mentioned the same cat from that video--I hadn't read your post until after I posted that. It was the first mundane thing from a video that I could think of.

Hey, BTGFL I'm sure David T. would love to post news about Moz's new album or the tour, etc., but he probably doesn't have any! I don't think it's fair to say that this kind of news is frivolous--just because you are anxious for some big news. I don't really care about that actress, either, but if it relates to Morrissey, let's hear about it.
so unreal

the song is a public service announcement reminding us that fat people are to be scorned and ridiculed... if we continually remind them of their depressing effect on the rest of us perhaps they will stay home or better yet kill themselves. Just trying to keep the population down...
