Is this a joke?
The reason I say this is because the last I heard, Raul Velasco had pretty much retired due to health reasons I believe. The show Siempre en Domingo is no more, unless it was resurrected somehow (by his daughter or someone), or is still on the air in Mexico. I asked my mom who used to watch this show all the time (In the US) and she said the show is gone. When I mentioned Roberto Gomez Bolanoz, my mom did mention other TV shows that could be possibilities for airing the duet.
Roberto Gomez Bolanoz (AKA El Chapulin Colorado) is still very active in show bussiness, and it would be very interesting to see how a duet goes.
I hope that what I have added is up to date, and really hope there would be a duet on Televisa. If anyone knows more up to date info, please let us know. I grew up watching "La Vecindad del Chavo"(a Mexican childrens program were 'El Chavo' played by Roberto G.B. was pretty much a homeless kid living in a barrel, all comedy but at the same time sort of teaching things to children. I am curious to see if any of these characters would appear. (El Chavo or El Chapulin Colorado.)

Actually, I heard Morrissey was singing a duet with Charo on Sabato Gigante. I heard the performence is very caliente, and afterwards Morrissey tells the audience that He and Charo are getting married, and El Vez is the best man.

I want to believe.

If this is not a joke, then what is more likely is that Televiso will be airing two separate performances by Roberto Gomez Bolano and Morrissey.

Anyway, in Las Vegas Alain Whyte did confirm that one of the Hollywood Palladium appearances was filmed by a Mexican (or Spanish language US channel) tv station -- only the first few songs, I think. Did anyone else see professional cameras filming the show at either of the two nights? My eyes are feeble, and so is my memory.

I've been looking out for this Palladium footage, fearing that perhaps I missed it if it already aired. I have little inclination to watch Spanish tv, and I don't even have a working tv. I would be enormously grateful if someone could tape this programme when it airs (if Morrissey will really be on it). I have lots of video boots to trade in return.

Everybody are afraid about Morrissey get into Mexican culture, there is nothig wrong with that. If Morrissey comes to play to Mexico. It will be great for Him, 'cause any performer or band -like Oasis, Garbage, Jamiroquai, etc..., that visited us. They agreeded only one thing "people at Mexico are very hot"; great audience and the most important thing , we are good HOSTESS. I hope that Morrissey plays on Auditorio Nacional,'cause it,s the best place for Mozz.

Actually its:

"NO CONTABAN CON MI ASTUCIA! SIGAN ME LOS BUENOS!

Thats Chapulin Colorados famous punch line, it
means..."you didnt count on my astuteness. Good guys follow me!"

If you watch the show The Simpsons, you know they
parody Mexican Television, by having a show of a
guy in a bee suit, a spanish show...well that is
the direct take from Chapulin Colorado....wich
means Red Grasshopper....but he wears a red suit
with a yellow heart with the letter CH on
it.....and his special power is that he takes a
pill wich makes him tiny(like a grasshopper), and
thats how he defeats the bad guys.

This duet is wrong...Raul Gomez Bolanos is now a stage actor, he never was a singer. And "Siepre En Domingo" is no more, but if you did not know what it was, it was a variety show that aired every sunday night, similar to the Ed Sullivan show

And for the Canadian idiot, dont be jelous because he has no interest in Canda, which SUCKS! Who the hell would want to go to Canada anyway....when we have great weather, great food, and the best women!(or men, whatevers your pleasure)

This announcement is from Raul Velasco?!! Come on. I know the guy can speak some English, but to actually contact this site and announce this nearly impossible duet? What a funny fanastic joke!
Almost fooled, but a more likely scenerio would have been: MOZ being on Sabado Gigante (Giant Saturday), hosted by Don Francisco, who is Chilian, and the duet with Ricki Martin, who is a Puerto Rican,(whom everybody knows Martin has copied looks & style from MOZ). Oh yeah, and this show is taped in Miami and is broadcasted nation way. This should please those who have near fatal attacks over his "Meixcan thing" and his not doing anything cool in the US.

Mike P- it scares me to think people like you are listening to Moz. If Moz chooses to learn more about Latin culture and lifestyle, then good for him. He's only expanding his knowledge as ever always. Morrissey has always had a healthy appetite for learning more about the world, people and music. His multi-faceted interests are what make him a unique and intelligent person. His lyrics are both didactical (though in your case they have failed yet to do so), and incredibly passionate BECAUSE of his impulsive desires to branch out and try something new!

I come from a hispanic family so it's a normal thing ti watch 'Siempre en Domingo.' It's like a 'Top Of The Pops', but in Spanish. Hmm, that should be interesting though. What I want to know is, what is Morrissey's facination with the hispanic community? Cheers! La Mozess!

Hey pinche dumb ass don't you know that when people yell "white power" or "white pride" or whatever it it usually followed by a cross burning, a hanging, and some piss poor slangs like "ni@@ers".When latinos or hispanics yell "viva la raza" or whatever it is usually followed by laughter and joy, and an occasional 40 oz. of the king of beers.Basically it means "there is a party over here".So before you hang up you white pointy hat and white sheets tonight, why don't you ask a person before you make your comments.

My dear boy I am by no means a "racist" as you stated. I think that would be quite dificult considering my boyfriend and stepmother are both Mexican. I think that is quite an injustifiable, harsh assumption to make.

It was a simple question. I was referring to the statements that I gave and wondering why it is so double-sided in my opinion. I am proud of my European heritage, and if I were to say White Pride I would not burn a flag as you so ignorantly stated. It seems that weve lost track of it all.
When people say Viva la Raza etc, it does not bring to mind 'groups' such as Nazi, Skinheads, or militia groups. These words are generally not associated with violence towards people of other racial groups. Unfortunately the use of "White Power" is associated with such mentioned groups, that tend to carry out hate crimes. So when people say White Power it brings to mind bad incidents. Its OK to have pride in who you are and where you come from, but when it comes to thinking that youre better, youve gone too far.
On to Morrissey and Mexico. That he has chosen to embrace another culture is magnificent. If some of you dont like it, then thats your decision, just dont make it seem that its a horrible thing. We must always remember, that most conflicts arrise out of ppeople not wanting to understand others cultural viewpoints. Before you judge someone, stand in their shoes and look through their eyes. Dont judge other cultures based on yours, because youll always think yours is better.
It seems that Morrissey has found something interesting in Mexico and its people and is simply making the best of it.
Lets continue enjoying his music.

I'm completly sure that this is a joke, but I think that Morrissey have always been a secret fan of "El Chavo del ocho"
haven't you noticed the incredible resemblance between Avril Angers ( cover star of the single "I started something I couldn't finish) and "la bruja del 71" who appear on the show?. People who have seen the show will know what I mean. European and american people will never know, sorry.
It would be a nice gesture if any Latin American band use a picture of her for a record sleeve, My band and I made a lot of thought about it, but we finally chose a picture of "Doña Florinda".

I just came from Mexico City and I never met a person who knew who Morrissey was. One of the several Tower Records in the city was stocked with all of his albums but it didn't seem like they were selling fast. I am sure he was fans here and there in Mexico but not enough to fill the "Auditorio Nacional". That place is pretty damn large. I find it very comical to hear the rumors about his duo with "El Chapulin Colorado". That would be equivalent to Maddonna singing with Chris Rock.
Hey why are so many people arguing about racial issues anyways? I think everyone (INCLUDING MORRISSEY) has a right to indulge themselves in whatever pleasures they desire. In his case it would be singing in Latin America. I asked my mother and she reaffirmed me that "Siempre en Domingo" was cancelled years ago so it probably is a mistake or an unfounded rumor.
P.S> Don't you know Canadians are evil? or havent you watched Southpark the movie? LOL...that idea is completely ignorant and so is anyone who speaks seriously in racist tones.

What?? Moz and El Chavo together??
I never thought I'd ever live to see such a thing, I remember cracking up while watching Roberto Gomez as a 7 yr old kid, and I actually recall owning his vinyl record and singing along to the silly tunes of the tvshow. However, for those who know what im talking about, lets admit
that such a duet is not only bizarre but ridiculous. As a Costa Rican I am thrilled by Moz incorporating all these latin elements in his tour/music but this idea is OUT OF THE QUESTION!!!
PLEASE MOZ RECONSIDER IT!!!!! Sing your life but sing it by yourself.....

Im Mexican and i find this ridiculous. What has "el chavo" ever sang.Yes there is a "Siempre en DOMINGO" it is on "TV AZTECA" but i dont think Morrissey will be on, seriously there is no one in Mexico that is a morrissey fan.People are just getting toO excited beacuse they mixed the names MORRISSEY and MExico. If he were to have a duet with any Mexican or latin artist for that matter let him do a duet with someone close to his voice level someone like JOSE JOSE or @#!!! Juan Gabriel!! not el chavo, please, dont make the race look bad!!

LUKA, Yes, we've noticed Moz has an accent and is from England. However, updates have confirmed he is no longer living there (he's in LA in you've also noticed that too) and I hope you've especially noticed that it was HIS personal decision to learn more about Latin/Mexican culture, for WHATEVER his reasons may be, just MIND your business, shut up, be a good fan and continue to listen to his records.. As you've mentioned, you don't need a Mexican lesson, but you might just get one through the lyrics, comments, and music of Moz himself! So if this truly bothers you, then take it up with Morrissey himself instead of fans who have nothing to do with his choices in life.

What is so funny and clever about this stupid prank. This site or so I thought is for valuble or atleast truthful information about Morrissey. I must agree it has become annoying all this Mexcan this and that. Yes Morrissey is exploring the Mexican culture(for what reason I don't know. Most Mexican-Americans are ashamed of their culture, will pretend they can't speak Spanish) but enough. Morrissey is British and is living in America not Mexico! and its rude to write comments in Spanish knowing well many people wont understand(not like there interesting anyhow) Before this whole Mexico thing no one ever wrote in Spanish nor did I ever see "Viva La Raza"(strickley a Mexican thing) comments. I truly hope this FAD ends real soon because like lot of fans I too am gettng real bored!

DARLENE, FANS SPEAK IN ALL LANGUAGES ON THIS SITE IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED. I'VE SEEN COMMENTS POSTED IN GERMAN, FRENCH, SPANISH AND ENGLISH. SO WHY IS IT YOU SEEM TO HAVE A BIG PERSONAL PROBLEM PARTICULARLY WITH THE SPANISH SPEAKING PEOPLE? YOU SOUND RACIST TO ME, WHICH DENOTES IGNORANCE ON YOUR PART. YOU CRY AND MOAN ASKING WHY PEOPLE MUST SPEAK IN SPANISH HERE WHEN MOZ IS ENGLISH. BUT YOU SEE MOZ HIMSELF STARTED THIS WHEN HE GAVE HIS TOUR A SPANISH NAME. HE ALSO PERSONALLY DECIDED TO EMBRACE LATIN CULTURE ON HIS OWN INITIATIVE, SO LAY OFF THE SPANISH-SPEAKING FANS/PEOPLE HERE AND HAVE SOME RESPECT! NO ONE HERE FORCED MOZ TO BECOME INTERESTED IN MEXICO. HE'S DONE THIS ON HIS OWN AND YOUR COMPLAINTS SHOULD BE TAKEN UP WITH HIM. BUT YOU WOULDN'T HAVE THE BALLS TO CONFRONT HIM WITH SUCH A STUPID QUESTION ANYWAY BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT'S RETARDED! YOUR OUTDATED WAYS OF THINKING SEEM OLD VERY OLD AND PRIMITIVE. To:Chad Middle Class,
That comment about "Nobody really likes Mexicans anyways.." I could really get off right now and make you look like the stupid ignorant fool you are, but I will refrain from any vulgar language because unlike you, I am civilized and educated. I doubt you are anything close to middle class, you don't even qualify to be labeled low class. This whole race thing has been blown out of proportion and it's people like you who start the ugly name calling because you have psychological problems. Just accept the fact that Morrissey has incredibly good taste and he has chosen to abandon England. Yes he lives in America, but Los Angeles happens to be the the city with 2nd highest population of Mexicans in the world. He could choose to live anywhere in the world and I am proud to have him 15 minutes away from my home!!!! So I ask you now Mr. Middle Class, you say nodody likes us but why does Steven Patrick Morrissey?

Morrissey has played a big role in my life and through music he has been my friend when no else has... it sounds crazy but it helps! Morrissey is one of those people that has showed me thru music to be blunt, out spoken, not to take crap from anyone and not to be a follower but a leader! I guess that also sounds crazy! But oh well! Morrissey influences me but not to the point where I have to be a Vegitarian or god knows whatelse! Ok well there I go again! Bye Bye!

HOPEFULLY MORRISSEYS NEXT ALBUM WILL CONTAIN A COLLAGE OF HIS THOUGHTS ON THE MATTER (MEXICO/LATINOS) AND THEY WILL LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT IT THROUGH HIS LYRICS SINCE THEY'VE ALL DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL DURING 9TH GRADE. BUT EVEN IF THEY WERE EDUCATED, NOTHING COULD SAVE THEM FROM THE TRAGEDY OF BEING NATURALLY IGNORANT. SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE NO GRACE, NO CLASS YOU KNOW?
For you no. 66 who signed as "morrissey" on sat. jan. 22, you should live here in mexico city to know that morrissey concert is very spected, there are lots of people who follows him since the smiths and it's obvious that you can find all of morrissey cd's in tower records and other music stores, but that doesn't means that mexican people don't buy them. There are lots of people like me that have almost all kind of singles, ep's and all morrissey (and smiths) cd's that can be found here in mexico city. Poor stupid girl... The national auditorium is too little for a morrissey concert.

Hey !!!
I've heard that Morrissey is into Morrocans now. I Heard that he lives in the desert in a house once owned by Lord Mountbatten and he drives around Casablanca in a pink Ford Fiesta waving at all the crazy people. I also heard that the song 'Maladjusted' is actually about a lavatory in Marakesh. He wears a Morrocan flag as underwear when playing live and he can speak fluent arabic. He is also putting camel's dung in his hair to prevent hair loss. Hence the longevity of his quiff. Shake that toosh !!Long Live Morroco !!! Morrissey will save the f*ckin' universe in spite of itself !!!
