Mexico:
Mar. 23: Monterey
Mar. 24: Guadalajara - Auditorium B Juarez
Mar. 25: Mexico City - The National Auditorium

Brazil:
Mar. 28, 29: São Paulo - The Olympia
Mar. 30: Rio de Janeiro - The Metropolitan
Apr. 1: Curitiba - The Forum

Argentina:
Apr. 4: Buenos Aires - Luna Park

Chile:
Apr. 6: Santiago - Estadio Chile

El Salvador:

Rumored dates for the U.S.:

* Detroit - The State (sometime between Chicago and Akron)
* Pittsburgh (sometime after Akron). From strungggout:

Does anyone know of Morrissey playing in Pittsburgh on 02/17??? I heard from a source that he has arranged to play at Metropol in Pgh??

* Denver rumor from Gregg:

Today in the Denver Rocky Mountain News, there was a tidbit about a possible Moz show at the renovated Fillmore Theatre in mid Feb. A friend who promotes gigs there had no info but said the Fillmore would "never let something like that in the news if it weren't an almost certainty"...fingers crossed in Denver

* Los Angeles - a few dates in early March are rumored.

Looks like the previously rumored Florida and Texas dates are off.

Update (Jan. 16) - Detroit is confirmed - from Paul Piazza:

Morrissey is confirmed for the State Theatre on Sun. Feb. 13th. Tickets go on sale on Jan. 22nd.

Update (Jan. 17) - Pittsburgh is confirmed - from Diana:

I just called Metropol. He will be here on THURSDAY, Feb. 17 !!! TICKETS GO ON SALE FRIDAY.

Update (Jan. 17) - Philadelphia info from Chris Jackson:

I checked a web site for the radio station y100 in Philadelphia, and their concert calendar listed Morrissey playing at The Factory on Feb. 23rd.

Comments / Notes

We love you for touring Morrissey, and hate to be selfish, but I think i speak for most when I say "Get off the road, get in the studio and release a new record!!" I don't want to wait till 2001 for new record!!!!!!!

What's up with the no-Texas dates again?! Morrissey used to have an open affection for this state and now nothing? That sucks. What about "Live In Dallas"? That was an amazing show. I just don't get it. I have seen him everytime he's played in Houston, and they were all great shows. I hope he plays at least one city here, otherwise there are going to be many disappointed fans in Texas..............again.

matt, i feel your pain. were you at the record rack signing?

MORRISSEY, YOU MUST COME TO TEXAS... YOU HAVE SO MANY FANS HERE IT'S UNBELIEVABLE!

he hasn't been here since the 'Arsenal' tour & we're long overdue!

Houston, TX - Sun, Jan 16, 2000 at 20:20:42 (PST) | #4

I can't believe he isn't coming to Houston! I have never seen him in concert and my friends & I were soooo excited about his arrival. I would have weathered all elements to have seen him!
WHY? WHY? WHY? My mind will not allow me to believe this! Houstonians everywhere we must unite and convince him to visit us!!!

What's this about no TEXAS dates??? Please...somebody tell me this is not true!

Just when I thought Morrissey was coming MY way - and then I read this? Ahhh!!! I guess I will be packing my bags for the 3rd time to see Moz. You know, I'm running out of funds here!

How I dearly wish I was not here...

what do you expect? jeez, you must think i'm a dummy.

open your eyes. i do not have the skills, people or otherwise, to do anything of importance so quit kicking me around. at this point, you are doing it strictly for your own gratification since any person with an IQ higher than your crusty underwear can see that i'm not going anywhere no matter what i do or what i try. this thing has been a complete set of problems for me. it is not gratifying in any way. i do not enjoy myself. i walk away more depressed and embarassed than happy and satisfied with myself every time. at no other time in my life have i felt where i have put in so much time and effort into something and have failed so completely. i brought a friend along last time, and it was terrible. i felt like i shamed the family. all i want to do is lock myself in my room and give up. just let me use my skills in a way where people might actually appreciate them instead of making me waste them on your pipe dream. find somebody else who can do it. somebody who knows what they are doing.

Oh God, my chance has come at last!!!
Morrissey in Argentina... God, I’m so shocked!!!!!
Plus, a couple of days ago, I received an e-mail from Boz telling me that “he had heard the rumours too”…
Just one question: why Luna Park? It’s really awful!
Why don’t you play at the Opera Theatre? It’s a lovely place and has a sound by far better than “el Luna”.

For those of you in Texas who are saying you're going to travel to another state to see the man, I ask you WHY? He apparently doesn't care enough about a sizeable fanbase to come to them, so why should you care about him?

Get over it. He has no new material. He has no record contract. His last couple of albums have been useless. He doesn't care about his fans. When he says "I love you" to a screaming crowd, he no more means it than when Celine Dion says it.

You're living in a dream world...and so is Morrissey.

In Texas
- Mon, Jan 17, 2000 at 06:57:07 (PST) | #16

In Texas:

Do you think that after reading your post Moz will be more eager to go Texas?

If u don’t care about him anymore, why do u come here?

Nobody´s Nothing
Don't be cruel, you don't know the power in what you're saying - Mon, Jan 17, 2000 at 07:20:28 (PST) | #17

Well, I'm not going to give in so easily. I might be a tad annoyed about no texas dates for now, but things change so often and so easily in the Morrissey world that I have to believe he will be back soon.

If I have to I will travel south to Mexico. Its not that far away and some of the markets over there make for good shopping!

As for him having no new material - well, let's just say it wouldn't bother me one bit if he wailed Mother Goose rhymes all night long. I just wanna see him (again)!!!

Cheers!

corpus christi, texas - Mon, Jan 17, 2000 at 07:26:23 (PST) | #18

In Texas - I understand your frustration, but there is no need to doubt Morrissey's devotion to his fans. I think we all know by know that Morrissey is a very fickle person and has been known to be less than reliable on tour. Thats just part of being his fan. You have to accept him and love him regardless of his antics. I am very upset too that he may pass us up again, but I'll still be as devoted as ever. All that being said, If anyone wants to start a petition of some sort and you know who to send it to to get results, let me know and I will be in. If I knew someone to complain to who could produce some results, I would. Viva Texas!!

Okay, I guess it's official--Morrissey is smoking crack! It's the only explanation I can come up with. I can't believe Moz would not play Texas but go to Mexico and Brazil and El Salvador and the Panama Canal or whatever. Okay, I know some of you guys live in these countries, tell us honestly: How many Morrissey fans are there in these countries, really?? I can't believe there are that many. Morrissey can't sell out the 1000 person capacity Fresno Rainbow auditorium--just 2 and 1/2 hrs. from LA, the location of his largest fan-base, but he's going to be able to pack 'em in in Brazil? I'm sure I'm wrong, I always am.

Morrissey, I think you need to play one date in Texas, and then only 2 dates in Mexico. Do it for Suzanne, if nothing else. You're gonna push her over the edge, and we can't handle her then!

I used to think that Morrissey´s fans were kind people... Now, I sadly realise that a lot of you are really selfish.
Do you understand that we’ve been waiting for HIM for 15 years?

And Bosie, since Echo & The Bunnymen sold out the 3.500 person capacity Opera Theatre last September, I’m sure that Moz will do the same. We all know that Moz has a greater fan base that EATB.

I am very pleased to see Morrissey visit South America, however, I have to concor with the others that more US tour dates are necessary. At least a visit to all the major city that have a large fan base; please find it in your heart Moz to put in a couple more dates. Some of us do have lives and can't just drop what we are doing to go see you. It couldn't possibly hurt you to through in some more US dates, preferably dates in the South.

Why must everyone whine "Moz isn't coming to my town"?! Evidently the tour is far from over. Wait until the final show is announced to see whether you'll see him or not!
On second thought, since you love him so much, why not travel to see him?!
I must say: Many of you are intolerably annoying to say the least.

travel to see him? why, so he can cancel the show right before he's supposed to go on? and what's this? skipping the tri-state area with a huge fanbase? so much for caring about the fans. fans who stood in line at carnegie hall only to be cancelled because he didn't know about it...oh well. c'est la vie, n'est-ce pas?

I dearly hope that Morrissey does return to California, Nevada, or Arizona. If he does return to California..please NO Los Angeles. Why not play in a not so atrocious city, and this is coming from a person whom lives in the LA area.

As for Mexico, I am sure these shows will be fabulous. Does anybody who lives in Mexico know anything about the venue, if so please fill us in. Thank you!

My only mistake is I'm hoping

Hi everybody and thank you all for the support about Latin America dates. For those who are pissed off because he's coming here I just must say you should inform yourselves better... São Paulo is the third biggest city in THE WORLD!!! Olympia's (the venue) capacity is 5.000 people and you can be sure it'll be sold out... Rio's Metropolitan's capacity is 10.000 and if it's not sold out it'll be 90% of it's capacity. Curitiba's Forum's capacity around 4.000 thousand and it'll be sold out... You should inform yourselves better.... I think sometimes you hide yourselves in the US and don't try to know things from another countries... Don't be selfish... I've waited Morrissey for 15 years... So, I guess you can wait for him another 6 months, don't you... Once more THANK YOU MORRISSEY AND WELCOME TO BRASIL... I'M SURE YOU'LL LOVE THIS COUNTRY...

no, no, Bosie.

it just highlights something i have been ignoring all along: my own life.

Is this what it's boiled down to? Me hunched over a computer pitifully waiting for local tour dates?

i'm strangely relieved by all this because it confirms the growing suspicions about the stupidity of my life for the past 3 years.

Anyone who wishes can go and give a 40 year old man with millions in the bank and no need for any sect's loyalty their limited free time and money. I won't. I have other hopes for myself.

Why Morrissey is coming to Rio, Brazil and not Texas? Hmmm... Let me see.
Possibly because he's more interested in an audience comprising beautiful taned people, who's never had a chance to see him live before, instead of depressed texan fat fascist cowboys.
Sounds like an understandable decision, isn't it?

Ha! For Lord! I can not believe my eyes either why everyone is so angry and jealous and being so childish selfish, for not going to their cities?
It´s so funny ....
I don´t bloody care telling you all if Mexico deserves him or if it´s the biggest city of the entire globe , or how many fans do you stupid jealous people think it´s worth to have in one place to make Morrissey shows deservable ..
I can´t believe you still don´t know Morrissey...
who gives a rat´s ass if he sells or not in one hour or ten minutes? c´mon the shows if he ever does it ..are sold out already... wanna know how many fans Mozz have in Mexico? move your own butt to here buggers ...just look, read at the general forum . hahahahahah!
If he wasn´t coming to Mexico I wouldn´t be angry but sad and STILL I´d move my ass to another place he´ll play.

As a native Texan, I just want to say:
- Dates are not firm - there's alot of time between Atlanta and Monterrey - maybe there's a chance, still
- Moz has never been to Latin America - Blur just did Latin Am - it's about time!
- For you whining Texans - you are embarrasing me as a Native Texan - pull up your boots - hit Monterrey or Mexico City if Texas is deleted

well, the 'auditorio nacional', in mexico city is huge, modern, beautiful, has great sound and it has hosted sooooooooo many artists and bands, don't remember its capacity... (help me ursula).
and for those who do not believe the HORDES of moz fans are we here in mexico, just wait for the reviews of the concerts.
just one note: the 'teatro metropolitan' has a really exquisite architecture, it's so beautiful, classy and it would be just perfect for a morrissey concert and he just would love this palace.
VIVA MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gabriel, thank you for the information about the venue in Mexico City. I am sure the show will be simply beautiful.

As for Ursula you seem to be quite an angry girl my dear. I simply asked how many Morrissey fans lived in Mexico out of curiousity, and may I add I will be traveling to Mexico to see the three shows taking place there.

I do understand the people whom are upset beause Morrissy is not coming to their cities. Hang in there everyone, I personally believe he is far from retirement so hang in there.

My only mistake is I'm hoping
- Mon, Jan 17, 2000 at 20:15:35 (PST) | #53

oh , well Gabriel, now that you ask the "auditorio nacional" has received bands from Led Zeppelin to Pet Shop Boys and from afrocuban music to classical , the place it´s very big , I never thought he´ll ever play there, such an elegant and huge space and trendy area.(close to the hard rock cafe if you wonder)
Yes I think too "metropolitan" will suit him better,( a very poetic intimate a la greek place) and by the way Gabriel ever heard that he had dates a few years ago there? In the Metroplitan? but finally it was canceled?, my mamma works at conaculta , so I have her working on finding trustful information.. so I´ll post something soon..
hey don´t feel so touchy "my only mistake is hoping" my words were not for you , but for certain people I know, who´s always rude with Mexico, no harm intended ;-)
WoW! Finally a texan or american or mandarin speaks truly! Larry smack!
I´ve always been true to you

everyone is welcome to Mexico city! c´mon there´s place for all of you!

Ursula, No harm taken, a simple misunderstanding. Do you live in Mexico? This is an good excuse for me to make a trip down there. I am glad to hear that the venue is nice. I just hope these are not merely another batch of rumors!

My only mistake is I'm hoping

This message is to "bosie" (is this a man's name? woman? dog?).
Morrissey may be smoking some weird stuff, we never know, but Im sure you're on something worse than crack.
C'mon, you may say you don't have good schools in Texas, but that's not enough for me. Anyone with a brain should know that Brazil is a large, somewhat developed country, with a population of over 150 million (and São Paulo is one of this planet's biggest metropolis). We have electricity, TVs and a music industry - all the conditions necessary to develop our taste for good music (and Morrissey). Jesus, just get a @#!!!ing travel guide and learn some basic geography. And if you have the guts, travel to Brazil one day... you won't get bitten by a snake or eaten by a gigantic monkey, if you wonder...

Right on, you blessed Latin American fans!

As much as I am happy for the many faithful fans in Latin America who have yet to see Morrissey perform live in their countries, I am embarrassed for my fellow US citizens who aren't the least bit ashamed over their bitching and inadequate knowledge of geography. I firmly believe that Morrissey could sell out a futbol arena in Brazil barely lifting a finger to promote it.

And as for Mexico? Ohmigod! Mexico is going to make the madness at the Hollywood Palladium look like a folk-song snooze-a-long!!

And as other people pointed out, the tour isn't over. Morrissey may still be coming to your town.
It's likely that Morrissey skipping your town isn't his fault. You have to get on your local promoters to get Morrissey to come to town. The promoters want to make money. You have to convince the promoter that there are enough people in your town willing to pay for tickets to make the venture worthwhile.

Or you could bypass promoters: If you have thousands of dollars burning a hole in your pockets, book Morrissey yourself to play an exclusive show in your living room. When you have done that and found out for yourself how booking and touring works, then come back and whine to this board...if you still think that's going to change anything.

For you Texans, there is still hope. And if you really can't wait to see Morrissey perform in your own town, why not consider going down to the Monterey show in Mexico? How long of a drive is it from San Antonio or other southeastern Texas cities?

Okay, I took someone's advice about "finding out" about these countries and this is what I found out about El Salvador:
From the US Bureau of Consular Affairs:
Health risks: Cholera, hepatitis, malaria, rabies, typhoid
El Salvador has a developing economy. Tourism facilities are not fully developed.
Areas formerly considered conflictive zones or zones of concentration for demobilizing guerrillas are now open for travel. However, the U.S. Embassy warns its personnel to drive with their doors locked and windows raised; to avoid travel after dark; and to avoid travel on unpaved roads at all times because of random banditry, carjackings, criminal assaults and lack of police and road service facilities.
Many Salvadorans are armed and shootouts are not uncommon. Medical care is limited. Emergency services, even in San Salvador, are very basic.

And about Brazil:
(by the way, you said Brazil has about 695 million people or something--Yikes!--haven't they heard about Birth Control?)
Rio de Janeiro continues to experience a high incidence of crime. Tourists are particularly vulnerable to street thefts and robberies in areas adjacent to all the main beaches in Rio. All areas of Sao Paulo have a high rate of armed robbery of pedestrians and motorists at stoplights. A number of violent assaults have been registered in the hotel district in Brasilia in recent years.. Doctors and hospitals often expect immediate cash payment for health services.Road conditions in Brazil are not what one would expect from the world’s tenth largest economy. All major routes are clogged with heavy truck traffic and, for the most part, have two lanes. Road maintenance is a problem.

Anyway, that's all I have time for today. I hope you liked today's lesson. And I hope Morrissey makes it out alive.

TAKE WHATEVER YOU HAVE UP YOUR ASS OUT ALREADY!
YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT MORRISSEY IS ON TOUR AND PERFORMING WHEREVER IT MAY BE. STOP BEING SO SELFISH AND ACTING LIKE A BABY. JUST FOR ACTING THE WAY YOU ARE ACTING, I HOPE HE NEVER PLAYS IN TEXAS BECAUSE YOU DONT DESERVE IT!

HI BOSIE....
EVERYBODY WARNS HERE IN BRAZIL "IF YOU´RE GOING TO THE STATES TAKE CARE YOU CAN BE SHOT BY A CRAZY PEOPLE. HE DON´T NEED ANY REASON TO SHOOT YOU. THEY SHOOT KIDS AT SCHOOL. YOU´RE NEVER SAFE!!! YOU CAN BUY A GUN AT THE CORNER AND SHOOT YOUR MOTHER, YOUR FATHER, YOUR BROTHER, SISTER OR ANYONE.... THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FREE AND CIVILIZED UNITED STATES....
I THINK EVERY COUNTRY HAS THEIR PROBLEMS HERE IS YOURS... TAKE CARE BETTER OF YOUR WAR VETERANS, BECAUSE IT SEEMS THEY´RE STILL AT THE WAR FIELD LOOKING FOR THE ENEMY.....
AND WHAT IS LAS VEGAS??????? A GAMBLING CITY IN THE MIDDLE OF NOTHING.... THAT´S THE ANSWER... AND ONE MORE BRAZIL HAS 165 MILLION PEOPLE, NOT 695 MILLION... THIS IS LESS THAN THE UNITED STATES... SO I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT BIRTH CONTROL..... AND ONE MORE LEARN TO READY, BECAUSE YOU´RE GOING BLIND OR MINDLESS....
THANK YOU EVERYONE, EXCEPT BOSIE, FOR THE SUPPORT

Well, I've just received an e-mail from Luna Park's Service Information Centre and they don't know a thing about Morrissey playing there!!!
Plus, people at the radio station which use to organise all musical events here, haven't heard anything either.
Please, if someone knows something else about this, I'll be more than happy to know it.

Thanx,

I mean TX is the biggest state in the nation shouldn't we get one show??? Maybe not but since Moz is not promotong a new album this tour is really for the fans right? There should be enough fans in TX for him.

My God, you people are dull! I guess none of you can take a joke. I didn't make up that information, you know. It came from an official U.S. Government "travel warnings" website. You can look it up yourself. I don't give a damn if Morrissey goes to these countries! I'm sure it's safe and I'm sure it'll be a smashing success! And when I said Brazil had 695 million people, that was an example of hyperbole. And I do know about birth control-in fact, I'm an advocate for mandatory sterilizations and/or abortions! Also, I don't live in Texas, whoever said that. And I'm sure I will die immersed in my own ignorance, amigo.

tee-hee-hee you amuse me, schoolgirls!

To Mr. Gustavo you my friend are quite ignorant!!
Advising someone to burn the American flag. It frightens me to know that there are "so called fans" of your kind out there. Please, for the sake of us who do not condone the words you speak, keep your small minded thoughts to yourself!

It takes strength to be gentle and kind...
Obviously something that you cannot comprehend!

Hey Jim,

Texas is the second largest state in the U.S. Back when they were working on the Alaskan pipeline, if Texans got on peoples' nerves (which happened often) Alaskans would threaten to break Alaska into two equal pieces. Thus making Texas the third largest state in the US. That threat would typically shut the Texan up.

Ok Bosie, now that you're coming in peace is alright... So,let's do one thing..... Music is for enjoy, so it's Morrissey... Every fan deserves to see his idol live at least once....I've never seen and that's my chance.... So, pray that he comes and everything goes right and I'll be praying here for Texans gigs to happen in March, before he comes to Latin America... This way, every single fan will be happy... And for sure he'll be playing NYC... it's a great city, great audience... So why he wouldn't play...
This was never to become a war, so let's go back to PEACE
Cheers to all. Marco

About 2 weeks ago i wrote in wondering why if with the fascination that moz had with the Hispanic culture(El Vez), why he had not considered going into latin america (esp. Mex.).
Low and behold. I hope I can get there maybe as a birthday gift to myself and to visit relatives. I have never been to a Morrissey concert, and I do regret that I havent, but I'm sure he realizes that there are people like myself who appreciate him and his music although we have never had the fortune of attending one of his concerts. Maybe I'll run into him in Lincoln Heights (or Mex)one day, and he can come over for a traditional Mexican meal and some interesting conversation. He seems like a really intriguing person. HELLO MOZ, THANKS FOR THE HONEST AND MEANINGFUL MUSIC, IT IS A RARE COMMODITY.

Since we're all very keen on making researches about El Salvador and other countries, perhaps it would be interesting to remember the damages inflicted upon Central America's people and economy by the CIA during the 80's.
By supporting the Nicaragua's Contras guerrilla and the military government in El Salvador, the US government was responsable for the murder of hundreds. So much for democracy, yeah!
I don't live in Central America and I don't hate the american people, on the contrary: I've always had a great time whenever I travelled to the US or happened to meet americans here in Brazil.
I just wanted to say this: Latin America deserves its rightful share of Moz concerts, since there are thousands of Smiths-Moz fans around here.
As for you texans, bosies or whoever: YOU KEEP YOUR BRAINS BETWEEN YOUR LEGS!

The perfect word to define many of you it's SELFISH.
Its really hard to believe, but There are much more people living in the word than nothamerican people, and most of these "foreigners" don't speak English…I know, I know its a shock for many of you, but Its true, believe me.
The word is not only USA ( thank goodness!), don't forget that. Definitely some of you should read more books and see less TV, this will be the first step to be more respectful with the others. Its easy if you try.
So, let the "poor" man play in south America . Let him live there if he want to, and please, don't be so jealous. There is Morrissey enough for everybody.

Reading through this message board today was really sad. I wonder if Morrissey realises how many really selfish, thoughtless and rude people call themselves fans of his.

What the hell is so special about Texas and New York City anyway? If he's not playing in your town, or in your state, TOUGH! He hasn't played in my town EVER! He hasn't played in Australia EVER. He hasn't played in South America EVER!
There are Morrissey fans all over the world, not only in the USA. He's played hundreds of gigs all over North America and if you ain't got around to see him yet, then you're pretty useless aren't you? If you're a poor student who can't afford to travel, TOUGH! That's life. Bitching because he's playing in South America (AT LAST) and not in your home town is so incredibly selfish, and people like Bosie are not only selfish, they're damn ignorant as well!

Did you know that we had a campaign in Brazil and raised 6000 signatures to get Morrissey there?
Of course you didn't, from the comments I've seen posted here, it seems that some people have NO idea what happens in the rest of the world.

Shame on all of you!

Para todos os fas Brasileiros e Sul-Americanos, espero que tudo de certo e que voces realmente aproveitem os shows!

Okay! That's it. I've read all of the posts for this topic and I've had enough! This should have never turned into a "my state/country is better than yours" discussion.
There is no need for hatred or verbal abuse. My god, some of you had some really ugly things to say. How much better did you really feel after posting your response? Did it make Morrissey change his mind about playing your state, country, etc.? No!

And enough about Texas! I don't remember my posts being whiny and pist off at Morrissey for not playing over here. I merely would love the idea of him coming back for a gig or two. Is that so horrible?

I'm completely aware that everyone is entitled to their own opinions so don't even go off on me about how I'm trying to shut your mouths because I am not. It's the ignorance and hatred that bothers me.

I think its wonderful that Morrissey is playing places where others have never had the opportunity to see him live. It makes more sense if HE comes to them, rather than THEM coming to him, you know?

Cheers!

Hello Brazilian Morrissey fans!

I am very happy to see how many you are!

Well, I frequent the Discussion Board of this site (since many time ago...) and many foreign Moz fans were happy because Morrissey will play in my city (Curitiba). Pratically all foreign Morrissey fans aren`t racists, and nobody ever treated me differently because I am brazilian. So: don`t pay attention to Bosie. His joke isn`t funny anymore. Almost all Morrissey fans aren`t like this.

Yes, enough of the useless posts. All I want to read is about Moz in Brazil '2000 (is true or not?). I don't post about other subjects because I don't have any opinions about them (Moz is gay? "I dont care"), but now the subject is about Mexico, Rio, Sao Paulo(arrrgh!!) and Curitiba.
So Bosies, skip this discussion!

About opinions on Brazil:
I don't care what you think about it. I know where I live and I love it!
I don't know USA (Disney doesn't count, right?), it's probably a nice place too, I happily
enjoy all the facilities you produce but don't think I spend all my time at the beach singing:
"lalala can you seee, lalala can you see..."

Now, has anybody anything to say about this rumor? Where is it from? Are we just dreaming?

It seems to me there is too much time spent and wasted on negativity. Apparently, when one is famous one's every move is dictated by one's following?! Morrissey does not belong to anyone, but himself - as it should be with any self-respecting being. Suzanne is right to get on with her own life...and the rest of you: be thankful Morrissey has shared so much with you, but do not act as if you own him!

p.s. The "original" Bosie was a lord and was very self-indulgent...he was blessed to have received love from a man with a very beautiful soul...alas, he was too selfish to care...SO, don't trouble yourselves about the Bosies in the world!

Oi pessoal!

J.Razor you're right!
Debbie you're late! This hatred is becoming redundant, even in French.

I have been coming to this website from the very beginnning, and NEVER have I gone through a whole page and seen so much non-English posts. This is becoming quite redundent. Please David has worked very hard to make this site what it is, the site is in English therefore that should tell you something. This is an English Morrissey website. Although I do not agree with English Please I also think it would be nice if people would start writing in Ednglish this is why: I do Spanish, but sadly not fluently and I do love coming here and reading everything EVERYONE has to say, but the problem is I am not able to translate everything that some people are writing. I am sure you all have brilliant thoughts to give, so perhaps you could be so kind to make write a translation in English as well.

Lastly, I do not understand why there is such hostility here. We must ignore the ignorant people who spewl their wastful thoghts here and focus on those who have worthwhile things to say.

I am positive Morrissey would not like to see such atrocious things being said. We must be kind to one another.

I'm sure I'm not going to add something new to this discussion, but... OH-MY-GOD!!!!
I still can't believe HE is coming down here... Feel like I'm alive again, after all these years of insanity. It's kind of unfair, since I never saw him young AND a few meters from me... Anyway, another thing I just can't believe is that some people still think we from Latin America are like samba or mambo freaks. Of course, I respect them, but what am I? And the thousands of folks in the Siouxsie & the Banshees' shows in São Paulo, just for instance?
Oh, what the hell. Morrissey, come before we die!

I was thinking about the posts i have been reading on here lately....doesn't it make you wonder how any of us survive in such a crazy and hateful but horrifically beautiful world?

We all like thinking we're different from other people because we're morrissey fans (i myself am honest that i sometimes fall into that pit of self-delusion)...but alas, we're not. We're racists, marxists, socialists, capitalists, opportunists--morrissey does not make us "kind" people, as much as we like to think he does...and it's ironic that on this website a lot of us believe still in the mantra of "love peace and harmony.." ( i do i do i do)... well, very nice, but maybe in the next world...

(i'm still musing on the post written by someone claiming not to be racist just because they are of hispanic "nationality". How deluded must you be to write such a thing and believe it? The internet should be about closing the gaps between peoples everywhere, not increasing it!)

Maybe i'm just getting older, or more wary of flippant conversation, but where are the real morrissey fans? The ones who don't bother counting how many times they've seen him in front of other people, or brag about how many tattoos they have, or compare notes about how many times morrissey have hugged them? Where are they? I understand compatriotism, truly i do, but what I can't understand is this: Lately, all I have seen are people each raising the flags of themselves to make sure they are seen. Why? Viva The Quiet Ones. May you always find solace in Morrissey and The Smiths in the darkest parts of your own bedrooms; and may your pocketbooks not suffer....

I'm sorry for ranting, but I feel like this whole thing has just exploded into a huge gelatinous mass of people who care more about WHAT they do and WHO they've seen than staying true to themselves. Why bother proving something to people who stop at nothing to prove they are Moz's #1 fan....?

I know I'll get flames from all over, and I'm sure a lot of you will recognize me and hate me...but I only speak the truth...maybe one day people will realize that there is more to life than the materialistic trends in artistic adoration.

but to everyone else....truly i do love you...truly truly truly...

The Guillhotine Girl.... There speaks a true friend... I don't know you, but wish I did...
Altough I took part in the discussion, I must say you're damned right... All that matters is my first post, when I shout that I'm happy for see him live in my country.... I never thought that if Morrissey plays live anywhere in the world but the States could bring hate to that selfshiness people around that country.
Altough, I may agree with you Guillhotine, you must read the posts carefully and you'll just see that the prejudice comes first from a bunch of hedonist north america people... sometimes they forget we're all in one continent, in one unique world... I'm happy because you NYC citizens will be able so him live, but I demand respect from eveybody. Not just because of me, but because our countries.... I know, it'll always be one or another idiot to crash everything into a "my country is better than yours" discussion, but the most important thing is the ones that support this ONE WORLD. And if this may seen ridiculous to many of you, that's it.... Goodnight and thank you.

Oooo, such latin passion! Morrissey is in for a spicy treat...only thing that worries me is that Morrissey once noted that Italy, despite its beauty, is populated with carnivores...alas, he will no doubt be aware of this in the latin countries...but, hopefully he will make a difference upon the diet of his latin fans?! See? For all those who grumbled in the above epistles: There is a positive aspect to his going to all these latin regions, afterall! To all people in Brazil: yes, it is amazing that Morrissey is going to be there at LAST! Don't miss it, I saw him in Portugal and he is even greater than one might think.
I also read the article published in Folha de São Paulo when I was in Brazil last month. Though I cannot see the concert again, I am happy that you all are going to be there.
My regards to all people in Argentina and Chile too :)
To Razor: your post reminds me of some famous phrases said by Quayle. For instance "that Italy, despite its beauty, is populated with carnivores...alas, he will no doubt be aware of this in the latin countries". Why Razor, do you think that Italy is not latin? Where do you think that western culture has come from? Please read a book or two before trying to offend people. Ignorance is inside ourselves most of the time, don't forget that.
