I knew he would play something from the Smiths. Didn't he mention them in an interview one time?

Great!I saw the video for This Charming Man on 'Rage" on ABC Australia a couple of weeks ago. It was the one with the room full of flowers - Moz with a bunch of flowers in his hand. It's a great clip! :-)

Lots and lots of good tunes there. Does anyone besides me remember "AEIOU Sometimes Y" by Ebn-Ozn? "I dare you to play this record."

Dammit i knew he was a Smiths fan. He's never mentioned them before, but he is renowned for wanting to sound like other Manchester bands. He wanted the intensity of Joy Division on the Downward Spiral. He also liked the way New Order and Section 25 had the beats, "..nailed down with spikes..". He is also quoted to say that the lyrical content of Morrissey and The The's Matt Johnson (Johnny Marr links there) are "..very poetic and stirring..".He has got Matt Johnson to join his new record label "NOTHING".

I remember the quote that you are talking about. In an old interview Trent noticed a car with a Moz license plate, and a NIN bumpersticker (or perhaps it was the other way around.) His quote was "I just don't understand some fans."

Went to Manchester this weekend, saw the Afflecks Palace mosaic. Not much to write home about I'm afraid. Get the pics soon so you'll all be able to judge for yourselves.

Ill Mozzer, right you are! I can't see how this guy loves all these great songs (Bowie, Smiths, Blur) and still makes this pseudo-horror, marilyn manson-esque @#!!!e noise!!! If you're a fan, listen better! Maybe then you'll make decent song one day, Trent (guess you have to let someone else sing then)...

This is Moz Gurlie, the one who sent in this "news". I only wanted to say, to the few saying nine inch nails suck are very close-minded, just because Trent works with Manson doesn't make him a bad person, and i personally think Manson is silly and seeing Trent, who is such a talent, and i would'nt say it if it weren't true, work with him is rather aggrivating because Trent is, and this is fact, not a opinion..he is a musical genius. He has created original, lavish, haunting musical landscapes that are true art, for they reflect himself and his inner turmoils and they help him deal with reality, and the music is so beautiful and emotional and innovative, that i find myself shocked at his brilliance. I think you need to look past his partnership with Manson and some of the silly videos he's made, and look at what's really important..the music.love, Moz Gurlie

i think it's funny how trent is called "manson-esque" when if it wasn't for trent, mason wouldn't be anywhere. i like the smiths, and i like nin. i also like tori amos. some would think i'm a bit schizo. but no. they're all passionate artists with their heart, spleen, and liver on their sleeves, and for that i love and respect them all.

funny how people always give the impression that trent and NIN were the orginal shock-horror industrial act.trent has liberally borrowed from and picked clean the carcass of SKINNY PUPPY. trent is a watered down, consumer-friendly SP. hardly orginal. without SP, you would have no NIN and certainly no Manson.

Roy......you always seem to make silly comments.I think you may have guessed, but many of the people that visit and post here actually like more than one artist/genre. If you don't like NIN, don't listen to it.

dear Crimsom: I do like more than one genre/band.I think New Order is a wonderful band, I also like ,The Church, The Ocean Blue, The Sundays, Echo & the...., Joy Division, and some others, so you can see I´m not that close-minded, it´s just that I think NIN IS A CRAPPY BAND that´s all
