Morrissey tour 2000 - some cities, venues
Posted on Wed, Dec 29 1999 at 10:59 a.m. PST
by David T. <david@morrissey-solo.com>
Just got a list of cities and first three dates, but already there is a conflict (Spokane was originally listed for the 2nd, but Portland was just announced for that date).

2/1 Seattle, WA
2/? Spokane, WA
2/3 Boise, ID

Yet to be confirmed:

In NY at the Brooklyn Academy
In MA at Cambridge and Northampton
In Atlanta at a place called the Tabernacle
In Toronto at Hamilton
In Burlington, Maine
Madison, Wisconsin
(Barrymore Theater)
Chicago Theater in Chicago
In Tallahassee, Florida
At the Akron Civic Center in Akron, OH
In TX in Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and El Paso

From Daniel:

I work at a fastixx ticket outlet in Oregon and recently saw a Morrissey posting. He will be playing at the Roseland Theatre Feb. 2 in Portland and the tickets go on sale Jan. 8. Now I wish I had waited instead of driving the 9 hours to see him in Fresno a few weeks back! I think fastixx can be reached at 1-800 fastixx or at any Fred Meyer store.

Tallahassee yuck. Hey Moz come to Gainesville
a real college town. Go Gators!!!

Bono
Gainesville Fl - Wed, Dec 29, 1999 at 12:07:43 (PST) | #7

Burlington, Maine is in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I mean nowhere. It's three hours north of Portland, ME, which is essentially the end of civilzation in Maine, as far as I'm concerned. I'm certain that was a mis-print. He must mean Burlington, VERMONT, which is quite a nice little college town with a BIG music scene. And its just across the border from Canada. As far as Cambridge, Mass goes, I can't guess where he might play. All the venues there are kind of small, really small. The House of Blues only hold about 250 and the Middle East only holds about 450. He should just hop across the river into Boston and play the Roxy or the Avalon. MUCH more suitable.

I had the weirdest feeling that Morrissey would play Northampton MA on this tour. I've always wondered why he didn't play there, it's the perfect little place for him. I'd love to see him in he town where I was born, too bad I'm stuck out here in Seattle :^)

coming to mexico city for ONCE in your lifetime it would be great, you can eat haute cuisine dried insects here, the coolest alternative for veggies.

Here's my two cents, PITTSBURGH!
Damnit! Morrissey hasn't been here since the Smith's were still together! Hell, I'd be more than happy to give Moz a tour of the Warhol museum...I know he'd dig that!
But If I have to, I'll drive my butt to Akron!

I truly Truly truly want Moz to come to El Paso it would be the greatest thing that would happen to my miserable life, it would kick so much ass! For the past 9 yrs of my life I always wanted to see Morrissey live in concert but the only thing I have close to that, is a bunch of video tapes from 1991! I would cry if he did come here!

Anyone have an idea of a suitable venue in Hamilton? (maybe Hamilton Place?) I'm sure he could at least half-fill Copps, but he's been playing much smaller venues the last two tours.

Hellllooooo Michael but Monday Night at the Castle is Old Wave Night. (Songs From the early 80's) I don't think a song written in 1999 would qualify as Old Wave which tells me you weren't there and that your a liar! I'm sorry but my road trip invite to you is off unless you can redeem yourself somehow. Enjoying driving alone.

So.. i tried to fly to Las Vegas to catch Morrissey but due to unreliable stand-by flying and overbooked planes, I never made it. I wept in the airport, wearing my morrissey t-shirt, just hoping that someione would feel bad and let me and my mom on the plane. Never happened. So I now anxiously await the Tabernacle announcement! Please Morrissey, visit us Atlantans!!!

Ok, what does in Toronto at Hamilton mean? I live Hamilton and we are about 45 min. from Toronto and it would be AMAZING (albiet highly unlikely) if Morrissey played here. Last time (& first time) I saw him was '92 at Maple Leaf Gardens. Seemed miles away and I'd much prefer a place like HAMILTON PLACE to make the experience a little more personal. Hmmm. I will be so happy if Morrissey comes to San Antonio!! Please somebody email me whenever you find out tickets go on sale! I don't want to be left out when tickets sell out. The land of San Antonio is very tame and needs the one named Morrissey to bring life back into the otherwise lame concert scene. A good concert hasn't come to town since last years' Frank Black and the Catholics show at the White Rabbitt. Oh yeah I love all of the new Morrissey material. There seems to be a habit of fans only loving the first two albums but, I think Morrissey improves as the years go by. Well, somebody email me when they find out about ticket sales. I may have to stop buying Sparks and Divine Comedy CD's to save up for Morrissey tickets>

Oh Morrissey, I can feel the soil falling over my head.

I saw Morrissey in Salisbury in England after traveling through from South Africa. I was hoping to see him in California and even left the mid-west in anticipation of this. I feel I may have made the mistake of my life now that he is heading that way.

It is only due to Morrissey and his lyrics that I have survived this adventure across the world. I really need to see him again.

Wow...Corpus Christi?? That's kinda weird...I don't know why Morrissey would go to Corpus...but hey, it's only an hour and a half from me...Houston and San Antonio are both only 2 hours from me...
I flew to Vegas to see him, I sure as hell will drive all over texas to see him! Can't wait!

Morrissey: DETROIT!!!! You always play DETROIT or ANN ARBOR. You sold out Ann Arbor last time, of course you should be coming back. The Detroit-Ann Arbor area is the 8th largest metro area in the USA and there are many Morrissey fans here.
I know you won't disappointed us, good night and thank you!

Hello kitty:

Morrissey is coming to Corpus Christi because of me. That's why! And that in itself is a good enough reason! Heh, heh...besides, I flew to the west coast for all of the October gigs and the last three shows in December so he owes me! Pay up big boy! I'm kidding, well, no I'm not.

And just in case Moz is reading this,
Mi casa es su casa! If you know what I mean...!!! ha ha!

Morrissey,

There is no mention of Montreal for the Tour. Please tell me this is an oversight? We've got some great vegetarian restos and all the Corona you can drink (Not to mention some wicked Canadian Beer)

Come to Montreal . We'll pay the ticket prices.

Boise Idaho, Last time i checked, vancouver or god forbid Calgary had more people that boise idaho, isn't it just like that though, all the good bands hire tour managers who think canada is toronto, guess i have to drive the 12 hours to spokane or boise for the show

DC??? Please? I move from the midwest to DC only to discover that Mr. Moz is thouroughly covering that area (no Kansas though, of course), and not even touching Washington. Anyone have any idea if he will feel compelled to visit the DC area or not? I mean, I could even settle for, like, ack, Pennsylvania.
