Dublin venue change, one date only (Dec. 2)
Posted on Mon, Nov 29 1999 at 11:12 p.m. PST
by David T. <david@morrissey-solo.com>
Thanks to everyone for sending the news. From Conor Rowan:

Morrissey will only do one concert in Dublin. This will be in The Olympia Theatre on Dame street on Thursday Dec. 2 instead of the National Concert Hall on the 1st and 2nd. I heard rumours in Galway and Limerick so I rang the venue today and they confirmed this.

And from Sanest Daze:

I've just been to the ticket office at the National Concert Hall (to get some extras) and they informed me that the venue has been changed to the Olympia. Also, the Wednesday night concert has been cancelled. According to the NCH Morrissey's management requested the change of venue today. All tickets are transferable, but I haven't a clue about the seating arrangements.

If anyone has any more info on this strange development please e-mail me.

(Nov. 30) From Stephen Campion:

I was on to the N.C.H. last night and they said that Morrissey's management wanted all of the seats removed and that the N.C.H. could not facilitate this as the seats are a permanent fixture.

I've just been in touch with the Olympia box office and they can't confirm the story at all. They said they'd have more details later today so I'll post any information I get as soon as I get it.
I wonder what this is all about. The NCH is a terrible venue and the Olympia is much better so maybe that's the reason. Our moz can be a tempermaental fecker when he wants to be but if it means that the venue is better then the concert's going to be better.

I just phoned and they confirmed that Weds night has been cancelled. Does anyone know whiether tickets bought by credit card can be collected at the Olympia on Thursday night, or do they have to be collected at NCH before hand. Thanks

Collect your tickets from the NCH and bring them to the Olympia. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis.

the venue got changed because the orchestra needs to practise and they cannot leave all the stuff in the NCH inbetween gigs. there you go....

Phonecalls to the National Concert Hall and the Olympia have confirmed the change. Just one date--Dec 2 @ The Olympia. All original tickets are valid because it holds about twice as many people at the NCH. Pity about the people who had tickets for both nights (myself included). Now its a case of get a refund and become a tout for a few minutes outside the Olympia.
