If Morrissey ever realized the key to his oh-so-loneliness is an obnoxious personality, well we would have a terrible musical and lyrical void to fill now wouldn't we?

I can't believe he has a picture of JAKE CRONIN from COUNTRYSIDE, FLORIDA on his wall in his lounging room.

Wow. Great to see these pictures at last. I must say, I *love* the way Morrissey has decorated. That's a great color on the walls; must be very relaxing. And it's interesting to see that there's a giant photograph of a man in tight shorts above Morrissey's bed. :)

The article mentions that the photographs are of 70's-icon Steve McQueen, and not Jake.

Lovely pixs! though this times magazine made a grave error, or was a leather chair on the top of Johnny's roof? It seems impossible because I have read Johnny has left the country and moved to france together with his wife (the irritating vanessa paradis!) and his kid for fear of criminals and other vague reasons. Could it be MOZ?

By the way, who's that Jake you mentioned?

I don't know who Jake is but do you think he is related to that fruity guy Garrett Cronin? You guys remember that one Guy from Tampa Florida who had that gay ass hurricane party and collected money to feed some stupid stray animals???

Please tour the east coast, Moz! Come to Charleston and I'll buy you a glass or two of beer down Jack The Ripper on East Bay.

I've been a tried and true fan of Morrissey and the Smiths since late 1985 and thougtht he/they could never do anything wrong --- but those glasses. Unless he was on a shooting range, there is no reason for them.

This is the one time he's blatently followed a horrible trend rather than originate his own look.

Can cargo pants be far behind?

Walsdorf - Thu, Nov 11, 1999 at 01:55:59 (PST) | #26

I agree Alarcon, those glasses are quite trendy and you would think Morrissey wouldn't follow trends. He may as well wear those vests at Gap.

Blue tinted glasses would be better on him... Not orange/yellow !

Happy Gurl
- Thu, Nov 11, 1999 at 04:56:06 (PST) | #27

I think the orange yellow tint gives him the Jim Morrison look - the blue tint would give him more of a "Matt" from the Real World Hawaii look. Of the two choices, I like the orange yellow glasses.

Mmm... I'm not very fond of the glasses either but he's lovely...
What he says about the 6000 refunds given to people in Manchester when he cancelled his concert with Bowie there is true: I was one of them :( When I called Ticketmaster to get a refund the lady was like "Bloody hell, this is unbelievable- I thought he was just the bloody guest!" which actually made me feel good despite the amazing disappointment of the cancellation.

Yeah he looks a bit like Bono but also a tad like Jason Donovan with dark hair.
Living room looks fairly cosey but his bedroom looks a bit small. I wonder if he has guests round - I'm sure he does, he can't live in complete solitude surely? Does anyone know the road name where he lives?

Scott <Scott70070@aol.com>
England for the English - Thu, Nov 11, 1999 at 08:05:37 (PST) | #30

In an otherwise excellent article, I don't see how he can say that the latest tour 'essentially comprises his greatest hits'. I suspect he hasn't been reading the setlists.

For better or worse, Morrissey has never done 'greatest hits' live, he always goes his own way, playing extra B-sides, obscure album tracks etc, and this tour is no different. Would anyone have picked 'Break Up The Family' as a greatest hit? The Smiths used to do the same, elevating 'Rubber Ring', for instance, to classic status.

I'll see you in Dublin on the 1st of December Moz, mail me if you want to meet for a cup of tea and a nice chat....we can go to the Welcome Inn if you like...I know you like it there...

What is the Welcome Inn? I'm going to be in Ireland next March (Dromoland Castle, Limrick, Cork). I'll be in Dublin for several days including St. Patricks Day.

We FINALLY get to see the man's bare feet! they're nice! More feet pictures, please.

Looks like he shops at Ikea.

It's like Madonna's house with cheaper furniture.

He was lying through his teeth about not being wired. Why does he always lie to us.

I just read an interesting statistic in People magazine the other day. It stated that %100 of men with huge pictures of Steve McQueen on their walls are total homos. It also went on to state that if one accompanies the paintings with a large silver Gucci cross, the aforementioned statistic is cancelled out.

Christina,

the Welcome Inn is a pub in Dublin where I spotted Morrissey before when he lived here. He talked to some frends of mine but mainly just complained about money!

Don't worry about the berry and twig thing ...I can have both.....

He is so bad-ass! He looks better than ever, I hope when I've reached 40 I have aged as gracefully.

I do have to say though, that it cheeses me the hell off when people call him Mozz, and different variations of that.

Also Where do some of these people get off saying things like, "I never thought he could do anything wrong, but those glasses!" It's so lame! They're probably walking around in sweats, as they poke fun at something a lame as his glasses. Jesus! Get a life.

Thanks for posting this article though! Your site is wonderfully impressive.
