Cover stars in "The Limey"

From Gina:

If you get a chance, I really recommend the film "The Limey", starring former near-Smiths cover star Terence Stamp and actual-Smiths album cover star Joe Dallesandro. Joe has a supporting role as a bad boy hood who's hired to off Mr. Stamp's character. A little poetic justice there? Although he's not as young and trim as he was on the cover of The Smiths (I recommend any of the Warhol/Morrissey films to see him in his prime), his beauty is still evident. I hope he gets more visible roles after this.

If anyone would like a pin from the movie "The Limey" please let me know I have like 30 pins. They are very Brit Looking with a Revolver painted by a Union Jack. David, the webmaster for Morrissey-Solo has seen the pin. Just email your name address to me and we'll see if you are one of the first 30 to be sent one.

Stamp WAS in fact a Smiths cover star--he appeared on some pressings of the "What Difference Does It Make" 12-inch.

I couldn't recognize a younger Terrence Stamp from anything. Would Terrence be the one holding the glass of milk on the cover of What Difference Does It Make? Sorry, haven't seen those older British movies that Morrissey enjoys so much.

Stamp actually holds a chloroform pad--it is a still from the movie The Collector (based on the book by John Fowles--very interesting if read with an eye on Morrissey's male mythology. BTW, the book is also quoted in the song "Tomorrow."). When Stamp objected to the sleeve image, Morrissey stepped in and appeared on some covers--indeed holding a glass of milk. Apparently Stamp finally gave in. Check out the stunning website http:\\www.oz.net\~moz for info on cover stars and song sources.
