Filter's Richard Patrick on Morrissey - "just too wimpy for me"
Posted on Mon, Oct 4 1999 at 9:32 a.m. PDT
by David T. <david@Morrissey-solo.com>
From Zeke:

In the latest Addicted to Noise, there is an interview with the band Filter. In it, lead singer Richard Patrick talks about bands he listened to in the late eighties. He had this to say about Morrissey, and the Cure:

"Patrick: The Cure was a big hit for me. Didn't like the Smiths. That guy [singer Morrissey] was just too wimpy for me, I think."

Just thought I would let you know. No other mentions. Morrissey may think this Richard Patrick guy is a little too aggro.

I actually have a really cool chin-up bar that Morrissey is welcome to borrow. It is easy to put up in your doorway and you can do chin-ups, flex arm hang or hang upside down! It has excellent results, I have witnessed them, first hand!
No one will call him whimpy after he's used it!

In ten years from now, do you think anyone will remember Richard Patrick when talking about the music of the 90's?

Here we are again. In a span of a few weeks we have two musicians (Trent Reznor being the other one) mentioning the Cure and The Smiths in the same breath. Why does everyone do this?

That's because The Cure and The Smiths are the 2 most influentual bands in the past 2 decades. That's why everyone keeps mentioning them in the same line. uuhhh why else would they?? not for their health??

Well gee did everyone know that Filter is a band that feeds of NIN and they are as well NIN rejects anyways! Trent Reznor is a great guy, when is he ever going to learn that people are just using him for his fame! I say NIN has got some good music. Oh yeah as Morrissey being wimpy that is very untrue! Look at Robert Smith for god sakes he wears red smudgey lipstick and he bought half of the Aquanet hairspray production in the 80's until now and as well he has a really whinny voice! I think Robery Smith is kind of girly to me! Boys don't cry but Robert Smith sure as hell whines about a stupid catipillar!

Ok thank you!
