NME article quotes Morrissey-solo comments
Posted on Fri, Aug 27 1999 at 9:49 a.m. PDT
by David T. <david@Morrissey-solo.com>
From John:

In the printed edition of this weeks NME they add slightly more to the story on the website, this time they're slightly more cautious and less sensationalist, the headline is "Moz to tour" with subheadline, "Plus Morrissey and Marr possibly to share bill at US festival. Reunion rumours persist" - which they are more than happy to fuel! It says "Speculating on a Morrissey/Marr reunion one fan on an unofficial Morrissey website reasoned: "How can they NOT? I mean, it would just be too foolish for them both to be on the same night, and not play together, for even one song. Look at all the examples, Sex Pistols, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and, yes, the surviving Beatles. I truly feel it will happen eventually".

Glad they consider here their number one source for Moz info.!

The quote seems to be some odd combination of the two comments by Lifeguard Commenting (#4) and Jose Maldonado (#16) regarding "The Smiths will reunite..." poll posted on Aug. 6.

What's up w/ both NME and Q referring to this web site as merely an "unoffocial Morrissey web site"? Credit your damn sources! It's called www.morrissey-solo.com, OK!!!

Why a reunion? I think that Morrissey never have been better than the last three or four years. Who cares about Johnny Marr? He has lost it? Name one song after the Smiths that is valuable to anyone other than Mike Oldfield?!?
I fan får Whyte/Boorer! Let Marr continue his path to Golgata with The Pretenders and wtahever is his name!!

I realize the site is unofficial. That's irrelevant. This site credits the NME and Q when it gets news from there, why can't they credit this web site when it's their source for news? This is the Drudge Report of Morrissey, ya know!

Unofficial? Give me a break! If Morrissey-solo is so "unofficial" why bother quoting us a source? Either way, it thrills me to think of Marr and Moz together on stage, whew!!!

I have to make a reply to Mr. Peter Birro. Although I like Boz and Alain....
Did you here them play "Paint a Vulgar Picture?"
Umm, hmm, Moz's boys seem to always mess up the solo!!!!!!!!!!
Johnny could do it way better in his sleep!!!!!
Face it - The Smiths are way better than Morrissey Solo!!!

(That's just one example - compare any Smith album to a Morrissey Solo Album)
