Johnny Marr in L.A. working with Beck; solo project upcoming

Thanks to jhnmarr for the following:

We were down at Bleu (in West Hollywood) on Thursday and I got to meet Johnny Marr ... the reason he is here is to work with Beck on his new album and once he finalizes that, he will be working on a solo project that he plans to have out by the end of February 2000...

Dear God! I am so frickin' excited I can't believe it. I can't wait to see what Beck and Johnny come up with. Finally, Johnny will be working with someone with talent again.

I wonder just what kinds of contributions Johnny will be making on Beck's album. I'm extremely excited about this, as I'm also a huge Beck fan.

Gee, you think that Morrissey and Marr will "run into" eachother, while in LA? I'd LOVE to be a fly on the wall for THAT!

Get ahold of yourself Flesh, it isn't as though they spotted Christ himself walking down Hollywood Boulevard....these people do exist in OUR world, and it is possible to meet them, I have met Morrissey twice, which isn't impossible!

While Johnny is in L.A. him and Morrissey are probably going to get together since in the Uncut interview he even said that him and Moz have been seeing each other every once in a while. He also said that he wouldnt work with him though which kinda sucks.

Well, this is the most exciting news I've heard about Johnny in a long time! A colaboration with Beck is a brilliant move! Can't wait to hear it, Johnny.

Now, let's see- Moz wore a Beck t-shirt in the 'Alma Matters' video, and Johnny's, well, y'know...

Maybe Marr liked singing Meat is Murder and now figures he doesn't need anybody. I'd be interested in hearing his solo project. I just hope he doesn't end up like a certain ex member of Suede - cough ber cough n cough ar...cough.... but..cough ler..... :-)

Everything Johnny touches it becomes gold. It will be so for Beck too. Great Johnny!

Ken i hope your nasty cough clears up soon. But let's not forget that Johnny actually worked with Bernard Butler on his solo album. I hope that he can in fact do something as cool as Bernard Butler did, but it hopefully can be even better.
