Joy Electric
Posted on Mon, May 24 1999 at 10:02 a.m. PDT

From David Adams:

This isn't much of a post, but one of my favorite bands, Joy Electric, mentioned the Smiths as one of their influences on Billboard's Artist of the Day piece for March 11, 1999. This isn't new info for fans of Joy Electric, because in their 1993 release they gave special thanks to The Smiths "who are the best band that ever was", and the boy with a thorn in his side.

Comments / Notes

I'll be the first to post one here. I know the guys from Velvet Blue Music and have had the opportunity to play with Joy Electric. From watching these guys live, I was very impressed with there style and ability to mimmick the values of Revolutionary brit-pop and alternative music in our Post-Eighties culture. Taking me back to the days of our hero Morrissey, as he crooned and basked in the splendor of his youth...Joy electric has this potential freshness in their music.
