Black Crowe quotes Morrissey

From Chris Lark:

Even I don't believe this. On the official Black Crowes website (http://www.tallest.com) in their "What's Wrong With Steve?" section  where you can ask their drummer Steve Gorman questions - he quotes Morrissey:

...Oh sure, they say, I knew him way back when. I knew him before the fame, the adulation, the off-shore bank accounts, the horrible hair decisions, the self important nonsensical musings, the paranoia fueled mood swings, the ludicrous political agenda, Oh, yeah, I knew him before all that. I knew him when he was just simply Steve. I knew him pretty well, come to think of it. I knew a lot of his secrets. I was a confidante of sorts, you could say, I had his ultimate trust. He took my calls on his wallet phone. He spent hours bouncing super-balls off of walls and was content. He didn't have a dime, but yet, as Morrissey once said, "In the days that you were hopelessly poor, I just liked you more". Maybe I'll just jerk his chain a little to remind him of all of us back here, in his past. Well, nice try...

Comments / Notes

This post is confusing. Is he talking about Morrissey? Is he talking about himself? Does he just quote Morrissey? If so, who's he talking about?

this just goes to show how he is in the minds landscape of the people you'd least expect and this is a powerful thing..

Hello there,

I passed on the Black Crowes bit to David. In that small piece of text he posted, Steve Gorman refers to himself not Morrissey. Click on the "he quotes Morrissey" bit to read the the full question and answer session that small piece came from. It's an interesting read to be sure.

As for him being buried in the subconcious of people - it's also an interesting point. I'm just afraid The Black Crowes might cover "Half A Person" now.

So what's their connection then? Where does he know him from? Happy birthday by the way....
