"Moz" in Aggressive Rollerblade magazine
Posted on Wed, May 12 1999 at 9:16 a.m. PDT
by David T. <david@Morrissey-solo.com>
From Scott:

In the current issue of the Skate mag Daily Bread (#28), the music reviewer's name is Moz and he is reviewing a Kill Holiday cd. I don't know who they are but he says they are a mix between Morrissey and Suede. It's just bizarre to see that in a hardcore skate magazine.

Comments / Notes

Kill Holiday is seriously a great band. You can probably find their CD at most record stores, if not, mail order it from Revelation Records. It is quite similar to the Smiths.

Kill Holiday is a band on Revelation Records...they used to be somewhat punk/hardcore...however, their new record is very reminiscent of old RIDE and My Bloody Valentine...think reverb and fuzz...it is pretty good though...but I'm a fan of the shoegazer stuff!

I'm the one that actually does some of the reviews as Moz...I'm a huge Morrissey fan(especially his solo works) and I love the new Kill Holiday sound...there was so much more I wanted to say in the review, but i was asked to keep them as short and to the point as possible. If anyone gets a chance to see them or buy the record, do so. They even quote a SMITHS lyric "WALKING AROUND IN THE TOWN THAT DRAGGED YOU DOWN" and on one of the songs they lift the riff from "JACK THE RIPPER" it's a brilliant cd, much better than anything they've ever done.

I used to be friends with Steve Miller and little back in the days of Unbroken, and he is very much a smiths/moz fan, and it really comes out on the new kill holiday Cd, he even copies some layout things from the smiths, like the band line up, anway, thats my worthless 2 cents

kill holiday are an amazing band and are actually friends of mine...they're new album is awsome...everyone should check it out...they are playing in anaheim ca on wed. may 26th so if you're in the area check them out...notice the still ill tattoo on the singers wrist =)they were probably being reviewed because they're stuff used to be a bit harder so to speak (the singer is from the former hardcore band unbroken).anyway check them out

Never heard of Kill Holiday before, but reading your reviews about their latest CD, I somewhat became keen on buying this one. Unfortunately you all forgot to mention the title! Please tell me.

Kill Holliday is kind of Smiths influenced... and they do Smiths covers, play in Smiths t-shirts and stuff... but in my opinion the singer just can't sing...
i don't know about skaters, but when it comes to the hardcore scene EVERYONE knows about the Smiths and they are one of the favorite non-hardcore bands among hardcore kids, like me...

The cd is called Somewhere between the wrong is the right...it's their first full legnth cd. Steve's singing style is full of emotion thats one of the reasons I like them...When he performs you can tell the songs mean a lot to him, and on the cd you can tell that also.
