From 'The Guardian' today, interview with Michael Bublé ~

"What's the worst thing anyone ever said about you?

Morrissey said once, "Fire in the belly is essential, otherwise you become like Michael Bublé – famous and meaningless". I just thought, "I wish I could be as successful as Morrissey."

The new issue of 'GQ Style', the bi-annual fashion magazine, hit the shops this week sporting Cover Star Joey Barton ~

It's as thrilling a read as it could be, with no actual fresh Morrissey content within. As you might surmise from the cover strap lines Morrissey references feature on every one of it's (non-ad) 310 pages, and some pretty obscure ones at that. The Barton piece is accompanied by some quite beautiful photographs by the best British fashion photographer at work today - Alasdair McLellan (who shot Moz for his 'i-D' appearance in 2004) - and it includes his recollection of his meeting with Morrissey at Glastonbury last year. He also elaborates ...

Published in 'The Times' yesterday ~

"Under the direction of Danny Kelly in the early Nineties, the NME became known colloquially as the New Morrissey Express: every time they put the former Smiths frontman on the cover, sales spiked. "Morrissey was perfect for NME because he was intelligent and articulate," says Andrew Collins, a former writer for the paper.

Forget acid house and baggy, Morrissey was the NME, something which made what happened in August 1992 all the more strange. On a sunny weekend in North London's Finsbury Park, Madness re-formed to play their first gigs since they'd split acrimoniously in 1986. Only one act performing wasn't a Londoner: Morrissey, who was due to go on stage immediately prior to the Nutty Boys.

From the magazine that Morrissey may very well send to the knackers' yard next summer comes...

...with a 'personal' introduction from Johnny Marr.
It's up-to-date enough to refer to the Stone Roses reunification but they forget to mention the recent litigation. Funny that.

Is there really anything left to be said?

p.s ~ In this weeks 'normal' 'NME' there is an interview with Johnny Marr in which he states that he was in e-mail contact about the 'Complete' project with all three ex-Smiffs, including Moz. I know, I know, it's shocking....Morrissey may actually have been a little parsimonious with la vérité
