Ex-Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher dies, aged 87 - BBC News

Former Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher has died "peacefully" at the age of 87 after suffering a stroke, her family has announced.

    Excerpt:

David Cameron called her a "great Briton" and the Queen spoke of her sadness at the death.

    Your Fantasy Supergroup Line-Up? - NME.com

    Excerpt:

    Johnny Marr

    Singer: Ray Davies, The Kinks

“For his words, but also his voice. He doesn’t croon, and I can’t stand crooning. His singing style is close to talking, and like [Buzzcocks’] Pete Shelley, you can hear the real person there when he sings. Less is more, and I love that.”

Rhythm guitar: Sterling Morrison, The Velvet Underground
“Just because he played like a machine, but a sexy machine that didn’t want too much of the spotlight. That’s the perfect criteria for a rhythm guitarist – or for a musician full-stop.”

Bass: Tina Weymouth, Talking Heads/Tom Tom Club
“She’s a musician who absolutely listens to what’s going on, and is totally unencumbered by ...

Apologies in advance, I thought someone already reported this exhibition, but couldn't find a post / thread.

I went to Manchester Art Gallery yesterday, surprised to see two artwork which are inspired by The Smiths.

French artist Cyprien Gaillard's video The Smithsons featuring "Asleep" as soundtrack. Gaillard was inspired by Robert Smithson who started Land Art in 1967.

Gaillard's choice of music grabs your attention, the video is exploring visions of utopian architecture and the aftermath of its social and physical destruction.

Haunting serene image is complimented by the beautiful song.

American artist Kelley Walker's artwork Panic, he used 7 inch single sleeve of "Panic" and a piece of white label vinyl. ...

    UPDATE Feb. 1, 8:00AM PT:

TomboJP posted an update and link:

The Japanese tour organizer CREATIVEMAN has uploaded official info on their website. It confirms that there will be one or more concerts in Osaka between the gigs in Hiroshima and Nagoya.

Tickets will be between 8000 and 9000 JPY (+a 1 compulsory drink which typically means an additional 500 JPY).

The Tokyo & Kawasaki dates will go on sale on Feb 18th, 10:00 Japan time.

If the rumor of 10 concerts is true, there should be another 3 concerts. I suppose 2 will be played in Osaka.

News of TTY update posted by CrystalGeezer. Zepp is a name of live venue chains in Japan, the owner must be a fan of Led Zeppelin.
