I was thinking about something driving home this afternoon. It was something a close male friend said to me a few evenings ago. It was and is, just about the best, yet most tragic thing anyone has ever said to me.

"You know you are so wonderful, kind, sweet, sexy, pretty, cool, funny and the nicest person I've ever met, and I love you so much. And I should want to marry you, but I don't, I just don't see you like that, however much I'd like to - and it makes me sad".

How gutting is that? It wasn't even that I want that from him necessarily, but if someone feels all that for me and still doesn't want me then what chance do I have? What is it I'm missing?
