08:09 AM - so don’t let the good days

fade away too quickly. Well the last 2 weeks have been extremely busy and draining. 2 weeks ago with Love’s scare about his mother at death’s door has now turned around to find her back in her own home. She’s not totally conscious of where she is at all times and she has a care nurse with her during the day when no one is home. They found another tumor in her frontal lobe this time and the one around her heart is still growing. It’s amazing how long the human body can survive when given such odds. Well hopefully she will die peacefully at home instead of having to rush to the hospital again.
Last Sunday my Love and I went for a ride to a neighboring town. Pretty small and reminded me of my home town somewhat. We found this little park and started to take the trail down to the river, 3 hours later we finally circled back to the truck. It was quite unexpected but fun nonetheless.
Last Sun eve also had our drainage problem turn really severe. Spent the night moving the dryer and tearing apart half the bathroom wall, when done I was still confused about where this thing is that the City needed access to. The City came Monday and fortunately the 2 young guys helped me look for this access. We find it under the shelf in the bathroom sink! So I tore down my wall for nothing!!! Fortunately I was able to salvage everything and get it back with out it looking any worse for wear.-
So once access was found the boys videotaped the line. Love said it looked like an old man’s colonoscopy, LOL! Found out the pipe used in the 50’s was like a tar paper material that eventually couldn’t stand up to hot water and modern cleaning solutions. It was only suppose to last 25yrs so I guess the house was fortunate to have had it working for 46yrs.
So Tuesday I phoned around and had people come over to give estimates about what this will cost to fix, since it was on my property the City wouldn’t help. The first guy came and gave me the option of them digging up the concrete patios in the backyard for access or making a hole in my basement floor. Neither seemed too appealing but if they did it from the outside they would just leave a dirt pile in the middle of the concrete that would eventually sink down. Great a huge dirt patch! However, if they went through the basement they would refinish the hole with cement. So that option sounded so much better in the long run as the floor needs to be repainted anyways.
The next guy that comes out doesn’t like to do inside as it makes way too much mess and it’s better for everyone if they go through the outside. This guy creeped me out when I first saw him and he came off smarmy to me. He just had too much fake and flash for me. Fake-n-bake to the point of George Hamilton, white teeth to the point of Ross on friends, and gold chains on his neck and wrist. The only thing appealing about him was his hard high ass!!!
The third guy that came out also didn’t want to go through the house and his estimate was $1100 higher than the first guy’s! He told me if they go through the house that it would cost MORE!!!
I went with the first guy, not much mess and the hole was not that big. I’d prefer this grey patch in my basement floor that the deep freeze just about covers than a dirt patch in my back yard.
So with that drama finally behind me it was time to do some Spring cleaning on the yard. Lover came over yesterday and helped me with my Cherry and Apple tress along with getting rid of all the old raspberry canes. We had a huge fire from the debris. There is still so much work to be done but the biggest job is done so I’ll just work on it slowly this week after work and should be just about done by the weekend.
I got so sun burnt this weekend, am full of scrapes from the raspberry canes, sore all over from bending and squatting, have a blister on my finger from raking BUT feel fantastic. Who needs all these meds when really just a few little endorphins can work wonders for one’s attitude and outlook. I think I’m finally addicted to something that is good for me!
