"Henry drilled the ball home with the precision of Johnny Wilkinson"

"The crowd in Glasgow were doing their best to match the Sweet Chariots down south"

Not quite verbatim quotes, but close enough. This is what our once respected BBC are feeding us with these days, with regard to the Champions League football, of course.

Anyway, in today's big news: I HAVE RESERVED MY TWO TICKETS FOR KRAFTWERK IN glasgow IN MARCH! I can't tell you how excited I am. Was. I'm not quite as excited as I was at lunch time, but it's one reason I have to stay alive for another four months.

I'm just back at work from a well deserved week off. The parents were away for a weekend, so I sat about then and drank loads, and spent a total of fifteen minutes out of three days in conversation with other people. Then I drank loads.

Since getting home on the Friday, I didn't actually go out of the house (apart from getting a paper on Saturday) until Wednesday. Impressive, huh? I used those days to waste my time on pointless activities and practice beard growing.

Then on Wednesday there was a pub quiz and the second leg of our Euro 2004 play-off, which wasn't quite as successful as the first. I went home, drank lots, sat up late and watched some comedy on the television, Monty Python, Live At Jongleurs, HIGNFY (twice) and Cheers. Then some Mr Bean on video. Er, hurrah.

Thursday I went to see Blur. More of that later.

Friday I went to see Lee 'Scratch' Perry. More of that later. Fun was had, though.

Saturday we won a pretty poor game of football, then I drank a bit. Yay.

Sunday I was tired.

Yesterday I was back to work and tired. I went to McDonalds for lunch and, bloody hell, what were they playing but a Christmas CD. Sod off, you can at least wait another two weeks.

Today was pretty unspectacular all round.

I still have a big entry to do to cover most of September, and all of October, and half of November. So there's something for you all to look forward to.

Unfortunately, at this time I have nothing interesting to say about my life or the world in which I live.

There. Now you're not really glad I'm back, are you?

I'm going to Kraftwerk in 2004, too, at the Manchester Apollo, so guess we'll all have to sit down, as though in a cinema, for that one. As with Karl Bartos, it's my mate dragging me along again. Although I'd like to see them anyway, and have once before, way back in the 80's.

In Arsenal Vs Inter MIlan, it was: 'Another 3 points for Johnny Wilkinson..' when an Inter player put a shot way over the bar. Made me laugh actually.

And you're really grumpy as well, which is always a plus!
I'm sure you're keeping lots of exciting little secrets from us! So what have you really been up to? Getting anywhere with that posh singer? Met Santa yet?
Can't believe you went to Mc Donald's though. That's gross!
