| Morrissey at the Dresden Dolls show in LA - account by Amanda Palmer |

Gypo Nolan writes:From Dresden Doll, Amanda Palmer's blog: "this was the night morrissey came to the show.
please understand. i worshipped at the altar of the smiths and the songwriting of The Moz for a long time. second only to robert smith.
i knew he was there. my tour manager shook his hand. i missed him.
i was nervous. not in the usual nervous way. i don't get nervous like that anymore. it was more..... i hit stage and couldn't stop judging myself. i just kept listening to my lyrics ricocheting around in my own head and my terrible judgement setting in ("amateur. stupid. trite. dumb. why did you write this shit?") i was only happy during mrs. o ("ok. this isn't trite") and astronaut ("ok. this is also good"). what a mindfuck. i feel like i wouldn't be so judgemental if robert smith showed up. but morrissey has been so vocal about his total hatred of certain things. i totally pictured him leaving the venue four songs in with a thought bubble above his head reading "talentless twats. waste of my evening."
brian picked up on my nervousness and to top it all off the place was air-conditioned to shit (cold = bad gig) so LA was ok. but not great. morrissey left right before the end of the show. i am sort of glad i didn't meet him. i had the chance to, about two years ago, at a german festival. i declined. i was just too afraid he would be a dick and then the music would be marred (no pun intended).
i hate that about music. when the magic is ruined. its only happened to me once or twice, but it's devastating. if you love music, and then you meet the source, and the source disappoints you, you can never hear those songs the same way again. i've tried to avoid that now. on purpose. some music is just too good."

moho writes:Here is a write-up and video for the song "All you Need is Me":
Video: Morrissey: "All You Need Is Me" - Pitchfork
Steven Patrick Morrissey's latest UK single claims "All You Need Is Me", and that's mostly what we get-- plus his band and some warm-weather scenery--- in the video for this fine song from last year's 00s-focused Greatest Hits. Always happy to pick a fight, the Pope of Mope grins and frolics in the clip while the track pours its venom on Moz-obsessed critics. "There's so much destruction all over the world/ And all you can do is complain about me," he sings, looking as chipper as the words are scathing. Backdropped by a ferns and palm trees, Morrissey slaps a tambourine and strikes dramatic poses as the band throws itself into the hard-charging midtempo backing. Each of the Tormentors gets his own shot in a studio-like setting, too, and overall the video is as straightforward and confident as the tune itself. "I'm still here," Moz points out. Damned if we don't keep coming back to him.

Morrissey Parts With Manager - Showbiz Spy
By WENN, 29th May 2008
British rocker MORRISSEY has parted ways with his manager of five years.
The former Smiths frontman has severed links with his longterm associate Merck Mercuriadis in favour of a new contract with ie: music - a management firm boasting clients including Robbie Williams.
And Mercuriadis insists he is not bitter about the decision - admitting he is actually relieved to have ended his working relationship with the singer, as he can now have some time off.
He says "Over the last five years, Morrissey and I have had three albums which entered the charts at five, two and one, and had 10 top 20 singles and sold hundreds of gigs all over the world from Earl's Court (London) to the Hollywood Bowl (Los Angeles).
"I believe my penance is complete and Saint Morrissey has granted my absolution."
