Morrissey will appear on “THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON” on two consecutive nights, Monday April 28th and Tuesday the 29th. This television event is in celebration of the release of “Greatest Hits”, released on Decca/Universal. This will be a rare chance to see Morrissey perform both a new song and a classic single (All You Need Is Me + Irish Blood, English Heart). “THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON” airs weeknights on CBS at 12:35 AM ET/PT.
“Greatest Hits” spans Morrissey’s stellar 20-year solo career as a true original, and one of the world’s greatest musical talents. Every song on “Greatest Hits” is a UK Top 20 single. Nine of these are UK Top 10 hits. Two new songs are included – the new single “That’s How People Grow Up” and “All You Need Is Me” - recorded with Jerry Finn, producer of 2004’s widely acclaimed Billboard Top 20 album “You Are The Quarry”. Not an entirely new story, but it may be of note that at the Love Music Hate Racism Victoria Park show today (which, we those of us who attended were told from the stage, was attended by around 100,000 people) Morrissey was thanked by the main compere (he was just mentioned rather than being in attendance, however). The compere said something along the lines of you may have heard about Morrissey coming up with the money when someone pulled out, well thanks to him we can all still be here today.
All told the day was worthwhile and featured some good sets so thanks Morrissey!

MORRISSEY, the pop singer and animal rights activist, has called for a boycott of the world's largest chimpanzee enclosure, which is due to open at Edinburgh Zoo next month.
The former frontman of the Smiths has claimed that keeping primates in captivity is cruel and has urged parents to take their children to their local abattoir instead “for a lesson that no kid would ever forget”.
Morrissey, a vegan who has previously backed violence by extremists against scientists and companies involved in medical research using animals, dismissed claims that the £6m Budongo Trail enclosure would help educate the public about the plight of chimpanzees in the wild and provide a stimulating environment for the animals.
“If the Budongo Trail at Edinburgh Zoo is such a stimulating highlight, then why don't the zoo staff live in it instead?” he said. “How long would they last without cracking up? An hour? Yet they expect the chimps to be delighted and buoyant? Would you be? People just cannot leave animals alone, can they?
“Animals survived quite well for millions of years without any human intervention, culling or incarceration. If parents want to take their kids to Edinburgh Zoo to learn something about animals, then they should take them along to a local abattoir instead to show them where their lovely food comes from - that's a lesson no kid would ever forget.”
In 2006, Morrissey said terror tactics were justified against those who conducted animal experiments because they had brought it upon themselves. He also singled out proudly carnivorous television chefs Jamie Oliver and Clarissa Dickson Wright as enemies of the animal rights movement.
Bosses at Edinburgh Zoo hope the enclosure will prove a popular attraction for the 650,000 visitors they receive each year and allow them to develop a successful breeding programme for captive primates.
Last week, Edinburgh Zoo defended the enclosure. “The Budongo Trail has been designed to provide an environment that will stimulate the primates, both indoors and out, and allow us to develop a successful breeding programme,” said David Windmill, chief executive of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, the zoo's owner.
Morrissey Loves Music, Hates Racism Press Release From Love Music Hate Racism: 25 April 2008
Morrissey has personally stepped in with a significant financial contribution to the Love Music Hate Racism campaign in order to allow their 30th Anniversary Rock Against Racism concert to go ahead in Victoria Park, London this weekend without financial loss or burden to the charity. In addition to his own contribution he has rallied his management, booking agency and promoters to make up the majority of the £75,000 deficit LMHR was faced with after their main sponsor pulled out.
Morrissey commented, "This is a historic event spreading an important, anti-racist message so it must be allowed to go ahead. Love Music Hate Racism got in touch and explained that the NME had pulled its support, possibly as a result of their association with me, and asked if I could help as they had not been able to replace them. This is something I am committed to and we appreciate everyone coming together so quickly to make it happen."
K2 Agency, Live Nation, Pacifica Artists Group and SJM Concerts are all associated with Morrissey and have made donations to Love Music Hate Racism at his request.

Did anyone else notice that Playboys was used as the walk on music for Milo Venimiligia and Adrian Pasdar at this weekends British Academy Television Awards.
It was produced by Morrissey's old producer James O'Brien so probably no suprise...
