Press release from Girlie Action regarding TMZ.com articles - true-to-you.net

17 April 2008

TMZ.com erroneously reported that Morrissey was photographed dining at the STK steak house in Los Angeles in an article posted on Tuesday that called his lifelong commitment to vegetarianism and animal rights into question. STK representative Henry Eshelman states, "Morrissey never dined at STK nor did we report that he did, but as a matter of policy, of course, STK welcomes him and vegetarians of all stripes. There's loads of vegetarian options: roasted beet, organic arugula and hearts of romaine salads; nine vegetable options from sautéed maitake mushrooms to parmesan truffle fries; mac and cheese, and on and on." Also, in an article posted on Wednesday, TMZ.com erroneously alluded to a disagreement between Morrissey and PETA who remain mutual supporters and admirers.

Andy Rourke's latest release - download on Monday
posted by davidt on Friday April 18 2008, @09:00AM

Gemma writes:
Andy Rourke has contributed his bass talents to a song with a twist, along with Paul Weller, Beth Ditto and many more. Consequences is a track with a twist - based on the game ‘consequences’, each artist added their bit without knowing what’s gone before. The track was being built, layer upon layer – with drummers kicking off the process, followed by bassists, synths, guitarists, and finally, vocalists. Think Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound.

Beth Ditto, The Enemy, Pearl Lowe, Paul Weller, Supergrass, Graham Coxon, New Young Pony Club, Drew McConnell, Andy Rourke and Ed Harcourt took to the studio in November 07 to create this piece of history. All proceeds go to Crisis, the UK charity for homeless people.

Check out www.myspace.com/crisisconsequences or www.crisisconsequences.com and for God's sake DOWNLOAD THE TRACK ON MONDAY!

Morrissey's Got Beef with PETA (TMZ follow-up)

Morrissey's Got Beef with PETA - TMZ.com

So you know PETA was pissed at TMZ for calling the organ-ization out after we ribbed an animal rights activist out for eating at a steakhouse. PETA felt it was just ducky for non-meat eaters to eat at meat eateries.

Turns out Morrissey -- who is a vegetarian -- wasn't actually at STK on Monday, but at the Belmont, the joint next door. Moz's rep tells TMZ that he not only didn't go to STK -- he would never go to a steakhouse! Meat IS murder. That kinda leaves PETA hangin'...

So how do ya like them meatballs, PETA?!

How do you feel about Morrissey dropping the F-bomb during his recent concert in Hamburg, Germany? (suggested by Ken Stavitzke)
I support Morrissey's response
Morrissey could have replied differently
I am undecided
