So you know PETA was pissed at TMZ for calling the organ-ization out after we ribbed an animal rights activist out for eating at a steakhouse. PETA felt it was just ducky for non-meat eaters to eat at meat eateries.
Turns out Morrissey -- who is a vegetarian -- wasn't actually at STK on Monday, but at the Belmont, the joint next door. Moz's rep tells TMZ that he not only didn't go to STK -- he would never go to a steakhouse! Meat IS murder. That kinda leaves PETA hangin'...
Morrissey's planned celebration of Israel crimes will not go unnoticed by Palestinians and their friends. He's reminded that there's an international academic and cultural boycott of Israel, and the only right thing to do is cancel his trip.
Morrissey maintains his boycott of Canada because of its seal cull, but he's perfectly happy to break the boycott call from hundreds of Palestinian civil society organizations against artists playing in Israel. In the past 7 years, Israel has killed over 800 Palestinian children. Every human rights group that has looked into it, including the Israeli ones, and Amnesty (which Moz supports) have condemned Israel's wilful disregard for Palestinians which Israel occupies. Other artists have taken a stand. Even Bono has turned down Israel's invitation.
I’m returning to Conway Studios to record one more track for Morrissey’s new album, the rest of which I recorded between last Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is now almost April...
Long before there was even a glimmer of guyliner on Pete Wentz's flat-ironed banged face, Morrissey -- and his amazing band The Smiths -- were singing their tortured alternative/emo/indie music hearts out in the '80s. Guess what he looks like now!
